    Who runs a RIGID FORK.

I use a Dimension disk fork corrected to 80 mm. I ride in Oregon where it is rocky, rooty, smooth, fast, slow (muddy sometimes), etc. I am a fan of the simplicty. I also run a myriad of tires from 2.1 to 2.4, depending on terrain and time of year. I really like the Panaracer Fire 2.4 FR for...

    please help?

To get absolute perfect chailine is tough. It can get very good with either cut up PVC sections or Endless Fibonacci Spacer kit. Not to be a pain, but I assume you lubed/greased the chainring bolts? Aluminum ones can be more sensitive to being dry. I would seriously consider replacing the...

Need to make my bike a SS

It is indeed 1-1/4". I used a thin (1/8" or so) PVC spacer on the outboard and a standard lockring from an old cassette. I did not overtighten, as I was afraid the brittle nature of plastic would just split. Hope this helps.

    Porter > Stouts

Good question: "What does make a stout a stout? "It's a fine line between stout and porter," Dunson-Todd told me. "The mash bill is different, 10 to 15% has to be roasted barley, and the bulk is pale malt, with some flaked barley or oats to add body. Porters tend to have other dark malts...

    Floorstanding Speakers

Agree, and with a sub that will take care of anything below 60 Hz, there are some very nice Paradigm and B&W loudspeakers, "bookshelfs" if you will. Make some stands, they are easy. Check out the Reference line for the Paradigm and the 601's by B&W. Enjoy!
