I'm heading to Stevens tomorrow to ride and am looking for someone to carpool with. I have room for 2 people/bikes. PM me or e-mail me at robotxfood (at) hotmail (dot) com if you're looking to meet up!
Also open to joining another carpool and throwing in gas $$.
I think I already responded to you on MTBR, but yeah forgoing the surgery is the CORRECT choice as surgery only gets rid of the bump - it does not make you any less prone to injury.' So unless you're a model worried about an asymmetrical body, surgery is not necessary.
For reference, I've had...
The new code levers look a lot like elixir levers only a bit burlier. They are supposed to use the same taperbore technology too so hopefully they'll give the same type of power and modulation you guys are trying to get.
I was in the exact same boat you were with my Intense SS. I am a big guy like you too (220 lbs), so I needed something reliable. I had a Lyrik U-turn before, and I absolutely loved it, but I never used it lower than 135mm because my bike just felt unbalanced and the BB was too low in the 115mm...
Bummer...the I'll miss the sick flames. I remember back when Diabolus first came out, I was sooo stoked to get the stem with flames on it (I think I was around 14 or 15 at the time).

But really, keep us updated in how they fair in the wet and muddy riding conditions up here! I'm looking to get something a bit thinner/bigger than my MG-1's.
Ah I see. I haven't seen any of the older ones on Chainlove lately, but I got mine from Jensonusa.com for just over $1100 on a special clearance they had, but it looks like they are all gone. There might be a few floating around on ebay still.
I weigh about the same as you, and I have one and love it. I know some people complain about a flexy rear end and loosening pivot bolts, but I have not had a problem (I have a 2009 version). I also run a 10mm thru axel which is probably helping with the stiffness a bit.
But you already have a...
The Shore seems like a bit of a big bike for what you are looking to do especially compared to the Konig. Why not look into a Norco Empire 5 or older Norco Six (they don't make Six's anymore)?
Either way, you're going to need to be more specific about what you are trying to do with the bike...
Hey Dave this is David (wearing the blue flannel), great job on that trail I went back out on Saturday and rode it a couple more times and it is a lot of fun. Are you planning to join the trail in with the top part of the advanced line that starts higher up the hill?
