I have a YT Tues Pro with the RaRe Air and I love it. Although I've only about 5 months' experience with it, it's proven reliable and is one of the best-performing forks out there, although you do need to take the time to set it up properly to extract the best out of it. Responsive at any speed...
I'm not planning to get a new bike this year but I'm also very interested in what YT has to offer. Given my good experience with the Tues I have, I'd expect nothing less for whatever they have to offer.
Honestly, the guy at ORD had never heard of anyone importing a bike before ("Do we even assess duty on bikes?"), and pointed me to the "items to declare" line. The person at that station spent about 45 secs looking up what it would be and then just said "exit's to your left".
Hey, I paid my...
Mostly correct. Like most countries, the price you see is what you pay, the 19% VAT is included. If you're in Switzerland (not part of the EU), then the VAT is deducted and one pays the tax for CH. Seeing as how they don't ship outside the EU or CH, that's all there is to it.
If you're one of...
I'm sold on them too......I want my next bike to have a Bos setup too (Deville fork, Kirk shock).
The 11.12.13 build is awesome, but I like my Pro better as well. Plus, YT botched the whole ordering process for the LTD last year. This year they wouldnt ship until März 2014 as well......thats...
Well, remember with forums, people generally only post to report problems, so they don't necessary represent the population.
I had no problems with the customer service at YT when I dealt with them, and the BOS equipment on my bike so far has been trouble-free. Stellar, great-looking bike...
That manual would have been helpful a month ago when I was trying to sort it all out. But now that I've got it set up happily, I'm not gonna start messing with the settings.
Interesting that I'm supposed to bleed the air though.
Well, I did take it to Snowshoe Bike Park in WV (USA) over the Labour Day holiday and it was as good as I expected it to be. Took a few runs to fine-tune the suspension; I've never had a suspension with this amount of adjustability but eventually got it mostly dialed in.
The bike itself...
I made it happen, albeit at a hefty cost. But what's done is done, and I do not regret getting the bike at all.
Naturally, the bike showed up 2 days after I left for the US. As the box falls into the freight category, it was near impossible to get anyone to ship it without a corporate account...
I'm beginning to see where the problem is. It may take a finite number of business days for the shipping part, but getting it out the door to DHL is the problem. Payment was received over a week ago, but it has not shipped. This is looking like a logistical disaster, with the bike probably...
It's a good thing most people stayed away from Beech today cuz it was a soggy, wet, windy, and chilly mud bath........I don't think I've ever had to spend this much time cleaning off my gear BEFORE bringing it inside to be washed.
Wish I could have made the decision before driving 2 hours and...
Yeah. DH is really, really addictive. Probably the most fun you'll have.....the days after any sort of riding will be really hard: "When can I ride again?!"
Looking at their availability it looks like they have it in stock at the moment so what, maybe 10-15 business days to deliver?
I am planning to ride it at Åre since I will be there anyway. However the German VAT is 19% versus 11% on a portion of the value in the US (first $800 is duty-free), it...
I may go for one of these myself, potentially the Comp edition. If it happens, I'd take delivery during my holiday in Europe next month then take it home on the plane with me, as YT does not ship overseas. Getting the VAT refund could potentially be a pain but I know (theoretically) how it...
