    My New SESSION 88

I would rather run Bontrager kit that Funn. Saying that I did strip all of it off my session except the wheels - they will do for winter.

Michelin comp 16's in 2.5 - Any online retailer have them

The Michelins are far superior UST tubeless tyres though. I ran them for two seasons in the Alps on Mavic 823s and never punctured or rolled them off the rim, even at low pressure. Last year I ran Maxxis UST tyres and found them very easy to roll off the rim, very easy.

    Trek Session 88 Spring Rate?

Oh, and I quite clearly told Alpine Bikes not to sell any more Sessions to anyone in Scotland after I got mine, never mind bloody Aberdeen!

    Trek Session 88 Spring Rate?

I weigh (16 stone ish) 100kg and run a 450lb sping - I have ridden fast, slow, rocky and flowing trails since getting the bike and am happy with that spring rate.

I hate Hope brakes! They break but not in the right way.

I will measure the shock tomorrow. Yeah, It surprised me that I didn't have to replace the spring as I have had to do this on every-single other bike I have bought. Need to stop eating and lifting so many weights!:poster_oops:

The medium comes with a 450lb spring. I weigh 98kg - 216lbs. I haven't made my mind up about the spring yet. It certainly wasn't too soft - felt about right.

OK, so it's 27 inches (68.58cm) from bottom bracket to centre of headtube. And the cranks are definitely 170mm. Check out all the different units of measurement going on here....

Strange, I bought it because I thought it represented very good value for money. I couldnt build a bike with similar spec for anything near the £3500 I paid for it, and I did try. I worked in a Trek dealer for a long time and have faith in the brand, much more so than certain niche brands.

I can certainly measure the bike for you but I wont be able to do it until tomorrow evening. I don't keep the bike at my house.

The medium feels perfect for me - I wouldnt want a bigger bike The frame tubing does appear to be quite thin but it does have a three year warranty so I am sure its robust. I have covered my frame in clear protective tape anyway just to prevent dings from day to day use - especially the...

New Trek Session 88 DH and FR version

Fair enough. I know I said I wasn't going to argue but I will anyway... My 6point has light tyres pumped up quite hard on pretty light wheels and the Trek is a DH bike with 2.5" sticky rubber running pretty soft with heavy ass tubes and it still felt super quick to accelerate and very very...

I didn't say the Iron Horse was bad - I love my 6point but having the two side by side, the Session pedals better. I'm not going to argue with you about it. I was asked for my opinion and I gave it. Whether or not you choose to believe me, I could care less.
