    NoVa shops for "big" bikes?

Thanks. We actually head for the Harrisonburg/Staunton area every so often for various events (like the Black Friar's Playhouse).

thanks - I'll add them to the (very) short list of places to call.

    NoVa shops for "big" bikes?

Thanks, looks like a bit of a drive, but I will give them a call. I notice they have a couple closer stores like Alexandria - ever been in there? I hear you about the dearth of shops...not like there were many to start with. But you would think with the way DHers break things on our bikes...

    NoVa shops for "big" bikes?

Thanks, is it a shop bike or Jake's personal ride? Germantown seems to not do long travel bikes anymore, but I thought there was a shop in Richmond that sold Rocky Mountains but I've forgotten the the name. Anyone know?

    NoVa shops for "big" bikes?

I'm shopping for a new set of wheels, a long travel freeride type of bike. Since mail order is sketchy when it comes to fitting a bike and all the dimensions look the same I am looking for a decent shop that actually STOCKS a SX Trail/Stinky/Bullit/Uzzi etc style bike (but not limited to those...

    NoVa Marzocchi Service Shop?

Thanks. I've done that before, but I was trying to avoid shipping a 888 all the way to Cali, not the lightest bike part out there :greedy: That said, the last time I ordered something from Marzocchi at the LBS, they charged $$$ to ship the part (which was passed on to me) so I might not...

    NoVa Marzocchi Service Shop?

Can anyone recommend someplace around here (Springfield) to get a 888RC worked on??? I was just riding along at Snowshoe on Quick Draw and the external compression knob (big red knob, bottom RH leg) fell off... Along with the end of the shaft it connects to. thanks -

That plastic thing behind the cassette

Isn't the spoke material a factor??? I.e. it needs to be there on Mavics with the aluminum spokes -- otherwise a jumped chain will cause serious damage. On the other hand, I had the chain get stuck between the cassette and spokes on a Bontrager with the disc removed. It knocked the paint off...

    Team Lummox Report

Greetings fellow user of the mid-mountain aid station - glad to hear your wrist isn't broken. You gotta ride in the back of the truck next time -- it makes the trip more interesting. First trip to SS all season, and I slide out and earn a sprained ankle on my second Sunday morning run -- AND...

    Alternative to I-tunes?

"Gordon" actually, but I've been called "gordo" since I was but knee high to grasshopper.

    Alternative to I-tunes?

You can also select multiple files and change them all at the same time. Here's a weird one, that maybe someone has seen before. I went to re-rip some of my CDs into lossless format since I got a bigger iPod. When the system went to the web (CCBD?) to get the album information, several of...

    Promoting the sport -- ProAm

Work with me here -- so I'm watching '10 Count' on FuelTV and the episode is "10 Canadian action sport peoples". So I'm thinking there has got to be a freerider/downhiller/someone who knows where Whistler is on this episode. Nope -- snowboarders (natch), BMXers (ok...), surfers (WTF?)... no...

    Iron Horse MkIII Driveline Issues

Installed two different brand new crank sets -- and two different chains, with the same result. :mumble: But, I'm planning on installing a e13 DRS, so I suspect that will solve the problem.

Santa cruz bike shops in nova

I asked about SC in Bike Lane a about a month ago -- the word I got from the owner was that they are getting out of SC, so you might cross-check if they are still carrying/ordering them

How Bikes Get Their Names ?!

Does this mean the Intense SOCOM rides best up a beach at night in foreign countries? So what does SGS mean? (like my 2004 Iron Horse DH bike)

    NoVa DS practice?

I don't need a real track right now, I am more interested in the technical features, so the 495 course might be a winner. Is the BMX track "open to the public" for 26in bikes? Debating the relative merits of _another_ bike in the garage with my spouse would not be healthy for the domestic...

    NoVa DS practice?

I had a blast riding DS at the last WISP race, but realize I need alot of work on skills. Is there anyplace in the semi-local area I can ride doubles and find a rythym section? thanks - Gordo
