The frame is chromo - when I jig/weld it, I have a solid aluminum bar that holds each end of the top tube/seat stays (the lugs) in place to be welded just like a tube. Certain points are tacked and later broken to split the frame, and insert a carbon tube. The tubes are prefabricated such that...
Close up of the lug seam (masked off a portion to prove it, heh)
IH8Rice - I don't mean to sound like an ass or anything, I love criticism and would be more than happy to hear any thoughts. Aesthetics are very important, but I try to let structure define it. I believe that a simple and...
Nice! When did it become black? It was red, then white, then... rootbeer?
We're going to be revising those frames this winter. One of the Draco boys kinda sorta ran over the other's.
IH8Rice - Whats with the meh?! Explain yourself!
I'm planning on plattekill this weekend, come...
About two years in the making, I finally finished the second revision of the bike I built a couple years ago - Perhaps you'd remember a black jack-shaft style DH bike prototype I posted up a while back.
Build Up:
Frame:
4130 Chromoly + Carbon Fiber lugged top tube and seat stays
7.75"...
Yeah, I saw the post. I responded with all sorts of information. Dig it up, if you haven't seen it since. And hey, like I said, theres one more for sale...
Its about time I got on one of these. This is one of our 3 initial prototypes for this frame and features vertical dropouts with an eccentric BB. 24" wheels, stout frame, and light. Built up with this tank of a marzocchi DJ, its 27.5lbs.
ps, the last production frame (silver) is for sale...
I'm not sure I understand how to get credits. I just want to put a couple ads in the classifieds - how many credits does one need to do this?
I've been busy, so I haven't really been surfing the monkey as much as I used to.
Those black frames are the V3 - they actually have American BBs, not eccentrics. There are 3 park ave frames with the eccentric - the black one (Andrew's) the blue one (John's) and an unfinished one that we never painted with different seat stays (mine). We have never had a single problem with...
Well, in a nutshell, here's what happened:
Andrew and I are working towards various degrees. Andrew is at the University of Buffalo, and I am still in Rochester at RIT studying mechanical engineering technology and industrial design. We all remain very close (John is actually my neighbor now)...
With the 5s (and really any hydro brake) you can remove the wheel and carefully/slowly close the brake past their normal stopping point (with the disc in there) to move fluid from the reservoir into the line, thus making the pads' native position a little closer to the disc. Sure, the contact...
Who are you? I'll set my bike up however I please.
Why don't you take that pink out of your avatar.
For the record, I know all about what happened to Grande.
The stylos are great. The service manager at my shop's other location recommended them highly. He rides them on his prophet and weighs about 70lbs more than I do.
Aitkin seat indeed. Took it from my street bike, because I loved it there. When I was putting the thing together at my shop, some...
Its about time, really. I haven't been on a DH bike in a couple years, and its so awesome to finally be out on the mountains again. It's a little dirty from Plattekill last weekend, but damn this thing rocks!
