I prefer more grassroots racing. Southridge in SoCal or Willamette Pass in Oregon are really fun because the course is open all day. Practice and hang with your friends on Sat., race on Sunday. You can ride check out lines and push back up if you want to. A race like Sea Otter feels like...
Nice road ride there!
Sorry you hurt your elbow. We missed you two out at Willamette. I think there were two other Sport girls in your class. They had a mass start and you had to run to your bike and bomb down a steep rocky fire road to hit the s/t first. It looked pretty fun!
I...
Come on, man... the occassional stick in the spokes will do.
Good to see all you all at Fontucky. What a great course and a great event. We were so stoked to be back on our bikes after a looong winter.
Quote of the weekend (overheard) "FINALLY a mtn cross course on a mountain!"
On the racing side, I agree with what was said. We are not as strong and the risks are a big thing to overcome w/o the rewards. We do it for fun and to push our personal boundries. So guys, give some props to the girls out there riding/racing. A lot of it goes back to the way society views...
I caught a flash through my mud covered goggles just before the Expert race. There was someone shooting before the last bridge in the trees. They were going to close the lift again, so we decided to ride down for some slip-n-slide practice. Who ever thought Idaho would be a mud-fest!!?? LOL....
I think Clay did a great job. Now that you all mention it, Transcontinental was a big inspiration to me getting into DH too. This is my new pre-race video. Watching Sam Hill definitely pumped me up for the Sunday race at Fontucky.
I like that this film has more real-time in long...
IMHO the event was very, very exciting. I was at the top for the first half. The gate would slam with the sound of a gun shot, then 4 guys would sprint as hard as they could down a straight f/r into a loose-sharp turn. My blood was pumping just watching them try to get out in front. There...
Just thought I'd warn you all about some of the bike stealing that went on this weekend at the Big Bear Nationals. We can all be too trusting when we think we're surrounded by fellow bikers.
Story #1 - My friend was hanging out in the main grassy area by the main lift, watching XC. He laid...
Oh, man..... I was so looking forward to hearing about the time trial. That was your event! :(
Good job on short track! After 2 days of hard riding, you did well! I can't believe I didn't see you all weekend!
Friday: I did my 2nd DS race. I stayed in Expert even though I knew I was...
Good photos! Perhaps some bike building could be used to pay for her time.:D
Classic moment of the weekend.... I'm watching the Experts go off and Mr. Pink Socks rides by, "Hey Linda, WAZZZUUUPPPPP!!!" Yes, in his race run. LOL!
It was fun to see the (super-fast) visitors on one of our...
Wow. I've never seen anything like that on film or otherwise. Sincere wishes for a good recovery. I hope the worst has passed.
Please post a new picture when possible. It would be cool to see the progress in healing.
Heh, heh, heh! I've been waiting to enter my first post and that was the perfect subject. Processed banana, blech! ;)
My name probably doesn't make sense, because I wasn't able to post the picture I wanted. 100 posts? We'll see if any comedy movie fans remember who Lady Litton was.
