I am flying out to Portland at the end of this month and I may have some time before my buddy gets out of work. What beer bars have the best selection of Micros and food to help me pass the time?
Thanks for the help.
Just curious where the first lift assist resort was in America. What year did you take your first lift or gondola up the mountain? And just for fun what bike were you riding?
Edit: Sorry for the vague post. I was inquiring about lifts being used for mountain biking in North America.
Do you guys think that Berrecloth, Mcaul, Paul B., Boyko, etc. could compete at Empire of dirt? Or is the field of BMXers attending out of there league?
I have hit some jumps and tried to throw a little bit of table and flair style into my jumping. But how big a jump, height and gap do you guys suggest for trying tricks, no-footers, no handers, etc.
I need suggestions for a 24' tires to ride/race on an indoor track? I currently am running some generic knobby tires, but I have noticed all the riders at the track run tires that have next to no knobs.
This past July I shipped my bike through UPS from Chicago to Seattle(on my way to Whistler) and my 1998 Super 8 frame was damaged in shipping. I contacted Darren at Downhillzone because a friend my mine told me it was a good shop and independently owned. I met with Darren who seemed at the time...
I won a 2003 Balfa 2 Step on Ebay a couple months ago. The bike rocks as a freeride bike and it fits me like a dream. It drops and jumps like a dream! The one thing that is driving me nuts is my cranks banging off the ground or other objects.
Has anyone found a solution to this problem...
Where is the best resort to travel to in the South with lift access downhill? I am 10 hrs(650 mi) away from Snowshoe, is there anything else comparable within the same distance down south? I see Sugar Mountain in the forum?

In July I spent a week in B.C., mostly at Whister and one day in Kamloops. Canadian freeriders are extremely nice. What a contrast frm the C U N T bags who post on this site :D !!!!!
After seeing the latest "Post your Downhill Race Rig" thread, I am wondering how many ridemonkey members work in the bike industry? There were alot of sweet rides with high end components that the average consumer can only dream of owning.
This may seem like a funny post to alot of people on the coasts, but the vertically challenged midwest does have some Downhill. I myself have participated in an event in Wisconsin at Devil's Head Resort and I know they have a few other races in the State.
I was wondering if anyone on this...
Any riders who are living in the midwest and who love good beer should check out Three Floyd's, located in Munster, Indiana
This beer is so HOPPY it will blow your head off. I challenge anyone to find a beer from the midwest that cmes even remotely close to the hop tast of Three Floyds...
Is it easier to learn on 26" or 20"?
I have been trying to lean on my DS-1. I can pick the rear wheel off the ground without an endo. I have been looking down to set up my first hop, but can't get past 3 to 4 hops. Would buying a mod make it easier to learnm the basics?
