Cairns World Cup 2014 - Rumble in the Rainforest

Oh so true, glad I'm not the only one thinking that.

Bring your rain gear... (Pietermaritzburg 2014 Thread)

Just had a look through his twitter, he's training hard for the endure series and there's no mention of DH. The endure round 1 is in Chile the week after Sth Africa DH. I'd assume no but we'll see.

    Leogang 2013 - Season ender...

Last night was amazing to have the WC title determined by the last run of the year, it couldn't have worked out any better. One thing I can't work out though is the negativity directed at Gee, what's up with that? Yes he does look very serious at times but he's probably just a very intense and...

Redbull have almost three hours allocated for the feed, hopefully this means they'll be showing the whole lot, hopefully. One thing the PMB track does provide is close racing, should be an absolute cracker. My top five in no particular order: Gee, Smith, Minnaar, Sik Mick, Hill.

Please don't do Slater and Vouilloz a disservice and use Armstrong in the same sentence as those guys, but I understand what you're saying. Jordan is certainly one which didn't go so well, but when the bar is set so high on departure it's very hard to match the same results.

    Eliminator to Olympics over Downhill?

Thanks for steering me back on topic I hopped on my soapbox. Agreed, it is bizarre the UCI would consider this but according to the rhetoric they didn't want additional athletes. Is the Eliminator discipline where the UCI sees the future, surely not. I just sit back and shake my head at the...

    Eliminator to Olympics over Downhill?

Part of me would like to see it in the Olympics due to the exposure for the sport and athletes, and it would be the most exciting sport to watch. The other part doesn't want to see it fall under the umbrella of the corrupt and money hunger IOC. Not all Olympic events are held in the host...

    Eliminator to Olympics over Downhill?

We can all relax they haven't canned syncronised swimming. WTF is that 'sport' doing in the Olympics?

Dear UCI,now that you're about to lose an assload of money....

From what I understand the other riders were given a two year ban and it was be reduced to 25% ie six months given discretion/co-operation, this appears to have been met. LA had a two year deal with no reduction however that was turned down. I can only assume USADA wouldn't discount given the...

That's why I stated 'the right thing to do', ie if he had a conscience which he doesn't so he won't. He had a deal on the table and turned it down which would have only been a two year ban. He stated in part 2 he thinks he deserves to complete again, how delusional can someone be. The...

I've wondered for some time whether the penalty for doping should be an automatic lifetime ban. I know it sounds harsh but it may make people think twice before cheating. Once the first couple of people are banned for life it might make the rest wake up.

I'm on a Trek boycot now was going to buy a Remedy next. My Armstrong book and Carmichael training guide will go in the bin today. I just wish my Livestrong Jawbones weren't so expensive otherwise they'd be gone to. Armstrong was so evasive last night and how are we expected to suddenly...

In the USADA Reasoned Decision it describes how USPS did it better than anyone else. Even within the team was a pecking order and LA had access to the best stuff of course. There weren't too many other riders around with the deep pockets that LA had.

There is so much of the story and saga to come this is merely the tip of the iceberg. From the cycling news forum:http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424127887323783704578246001221628488.html Defines 'conflict of interest'. If any of you guys want to get up to speed The Clinic on Cycling...

I absolutely agree. From my original list I forgot Christopher Bassons a man who Armstrong ended his pro cycling career after breaking the peleton omerta.

For me the doping is only a small part, I can stomach what he did there. What I find completely reprehensible is what he did to innocent people who merely tried to tell the truth. Bullying, intimidation, threats of harm, fincancial and emotional harship. Kathy and Greg LeMond, Emma O'Reilly...
