Never too old to learn something new. This week I started building a trail (pumptrack) using a backhoe & a plate compactor. I've never used either before. Good thing it's a pumptrack. I made a mess learning how to work the backhoe.
I had the opportunity this summer to ride the very first trail...
Repack, I used to be a roadie (Canadian bands), & I pioneered mountain bike trail building (in the 60's). I'm 55 now, do you think I should take up piano moving in my twilight years?:D
We're still around. Just not refugees anymore.
I'd like to thank ridemonkey for being so nice and accommodating. Nothing like the way we treated those poor golfers. :bonk:
I get in 2-4 hours pretty much every day. I couldn't begin to guess how many miles that is. The terrain I ride varies so much. I would guess that up the downhill race course would only be a couple of miles an hour. There's some pretty easy singletrack that I ride that I know I can do close to 20...
That is part of the middle school system. Designed for 8 year olds to learn to ride. There are harder sections but not much harder. I have other trails that would pucker your butt. One of them is named "Cut Yer Bars". Here's a sample. There is no ride-around.
