You can use SRAM 11spd mechs on 12spd Eagle too as long as you lock out the biggest cog they work fine.

There's freight forwarders and such but its a hassle. Sometimes the shops will still send direct if you message them. I had to get a company in the UK to send me spares for Mavic wheels recently because the Aussie distro didn't have them and wouldn't order them.

Bit of a pain to find them over here in Oz. And thanks to geo-restrictions we struggle to order from overseas. Actually effin georestrictions are whats wrong with the industry. If you're gonna lock us out of buying spares and parts from overseas to save coin, then at least make sure they're...

    Where is my "Lahar"?

The NSMB tear down articles are brilliant. As are their long term review follow-ups. I know its hard to do when everyone is rushing to get the review of the new shiny stuff out the moment the embargo drops, but its good to have an idea of the longevity and serviceability of stuff. I still...

Minor thing - but the new RM Altitude models all come specced with proper ODI ElitePro lock-on grips. I probably only noticed because they're my grip of choice, but nice to see. Buying a $10-15 K bike that comes specced with "in-house" grips can feck right off.

    BOOOOOO E-BIKES

Oh yeah if its a mint chairlift day there's really no comparison but I've definitely done shuttle or uplift days that were such a fuck about or horrible racks/driving that an e-bike would be preferable.

    BOOOOOO E-BIKES

Lol thats quicker than uplifts half the time with the amount of faffing The fuel ex and exe come pretty close, but those Santa Cruz offerings are wild. Actually aside from the V10 and their gravel bike I pretty much can't tell any Santa Cruz bikes apart anymore without reading the decals.

Talk me out of rekindling my youth via vintage bikes

Thats a cool idea if the dream bike had a super distinct look to it. Didn't Giant do that for Warner and make a bike in the old ATX colours for him? I remember my old dream bikes looking way, way cooler than they look when I see pictures of them now. Probably best kept as memories.

    Short Crank Curious…

Yeah it sucks Shimano doesn't use off-the-shelf bearings. It means every couple of years I have to spend $25 on a new Shimano BB instead of stuffing around rebuilding it with $50 worth of off-the-shelf bearings
