There's freight forwarders and such but its a hassle. Sometimes the shops will still send direct if you message them.

Minor thing - but the new RM Altitude models all come specced with proper ODI ElitePro lock-on grips. I probably only noticed because they're my grip of choice, but nice to see.
Buying a $10-15 K bike that comes specced with "in-house" grips can feck right off.
Oh yeah if its a mint chairlift day there's really no comparison but I've definitely done shuttle or uplift days that were such a fuck about or horrible racks/driving that an e-bike would be preferable.

The fuel ex and exe come pretty close, but those Santa Cruz offerings are wild. Actually aside from the V10 and their gravel bike I pretty much can't tell any Santa Cruz bikes apart anymore without reading the decals.

Yeah it sucks Shimano doesn't use off-the-shelf bearings. It means every couple of years I have to spend $25 on a new Shimano BB instead of stuffing around rebuilding it with $50 worth of off-the-shelf bearings
