I don't think Whitetail will open up to bikes again unless someone close to the ownership can shmooze them up on the idea.

The point here is that RIDING is the POINT.
The shed is public domain, anyone who wants to ride or build there can and will. Trying to control it is pointless because these inevitable little skirmishes eventually materialize.

"From what I recall from when I went to the first race, there is a hotel just down the road. I think its a Comfort Inn, but don't quote me on that. I paid $80 for the room plus the local taxes, and that took it up to about $100 for the night. Not a bad room, but not $100 either.

Hey dude, now that you've ranted on and on and on about your stinking $15 bucks...maybe you might think about the greater good here.
No one wants to lose their money due to a cancellation, but DH races aren't a easy to find commodity like 30 packs of soda or 10 lb bags of Doritos that you buy...
SS isn't overpriced as far as race fees...but a room is $200 a night unless you stay at the roach at the bottom...there's no where to camp, but really, if you're lucky it won't rain and then the 4-5 hour drive (from NOVA) will be worth it...
whitetail will be better, 2 races in one weekend plus a huge crowd.
if anyone is interested in seeing whitetail reopen for DH, then come out and show your support...
SS is great, but a long drive for many of us, not to mention overpriced and more often than not, wet and swampy as monsoon...
