Yup. The air on the shop floor was as nasty as I remember. Everything that doesn’t get moved or touched regularly is covered in a mixture of oil and dust. Things that get touched regularly ate polished / burnished - almost like the oil is etching the paint.
I don’t mind the smell of a machine...
Need to go to a customer site today. It is a “grind shop” making medical components. Their air handling and filtering is so bad that I can feel the oil & coolant mix in the air. It also smells like locker-room on the shop floor. Everything is covered in oil and dust. It’s fucking gross. Good...
This. I was planning to rent a small excavator this summer and part of the plan is to watch a bunch of youtube so I can “learn how to” operate it…
I had to google “hoisting license!” WTF!?!? You keep that crazy shit in MA.
Not the person you asked, but why not rent?
The problem with little tractors is that they are…well…little. The loader won’t be able to lift more than a couple of hundred pounds. They’re built lighter too.
Decent new tractor with implements is gonna cost at least $20k. That’s a lot of rental…
I disagree on that. The doorseal is designed and manufactured to perform an important function. Otherwise it would not be part of the car. As Jm said, it is a safety feature as well. Not being able to close your door prevents use. Not being able to drive without distraction caused bu the vehicle...
Dough! I have a colleague named Doug. I always have to check that I don’t address him as “Dough” in emails. Not sure how my fingers decide to add the extra “h.”
Other than that - Drinking coffee, listening to birds, wondering which boss I’ll work for today…probably myself.
I think the usefulness of an RTT depends on how you camp. Campground or serviced campsites are really not where the RTT shines. Teardrop or just a gigantic hunting tent would be cooler. A folded up yurt would fit nicely in the back of your brodozer.
I actually really like our “cheapo” CVT...
“I don’t think that word means what you think it means…”
We have an upper management guy here who doesn’t understand how prioritizing tasks works…luckily he’s afraid of me. Haha.
I recently grabbed my old salsa a la carte out of storage. Gave it a tune-up, rode it once and noped it up onto the wall as “art.”
Admittedly, part of the problem is me. My back, neck, wrists, shoulders, etc. just can’t handle a rigid hardtail anymore…
Ufff. So much stuff to do -some of it cool/fun, but zero motivation or energy. Work travel this week kicked the shit out of me. It wasn’t even hard travel really. Maybe another cup of coffee will help.
I love Singapore. The food is amazing and the people are great! Make sure you eat with the locals in the little stalls and markets. Some of the best food ever!
I am heading over to Berthoud this morning. Wish I had more time to relax and visit CO, but this is a business only quickie…
