Thats just stupid. No builder likes seeing their trails get torn down, but I don't think people are cool with kissing ass to a church. I know I'm not.

I think you're right. This is a great opportunity for xc mountain bikers.
I don't condone a lot of the things that have happened at BD, especially the cutting of trees and littering. I rode there for over a year. Recently more and more people have been pouring in, and more and more trash has...
I think a better solution is to build more trails, less churches. There are already far more churches than trails out there.
Also, as far as building at collonade goes, not everybody lives in or near seattle, and its not a viable option.
There is an entrance from 216th, but if they closed the main lot, they probably closed that as well. The sign thats been sitting there for a few weeks said that it'd be closed "June - October" or something like that. I rode there on sunday and it was still open. Odd that they'd close it now...
Converting Porters to SS can be kinda funky. I ended up using a shadow half-link chain and a 32:13 gearing. Kinda stiff, but you pick up speed fast... and it doesn't require a goofy tensioner. I tried the tensioner route at first and it was nothing but noise and trouble.
