These things are necessary for front gear lines when you can't have a barrel adjuster at the housing stop near the head-tube. No front derailleurs have barrel adjusters, so you gotta put one somewhere.
It's way lighter than a Marzocchi DJ, talkin' pounds baby. I just put the 100mm one on my Banshee Morphine. The fork is made in USA and comes smooth, stiff and progressive out of the box. But because I have a 24" in the rear the front rides a little too high. I want to get the 80mm one now...
In Marla Streb's book "Downhill" she mentions she's got the PCL of a cadaver in her knee. I keep meaning to email her with questions about her injury. If your knee is still swollen maybe you should take it real easy. Controlled PT is necessary to get the remaining ligaments/muscles...
I had a full PCL tear 19 months ago. The doctor didn't recommend surgery, just PT, which I did half-assed. The pain goes away soon but I'm guessing your whole quad/knee area has gotten a little smaller/weaker. Clipping into pedals and pulling up is good for rehab. Good luck.
