2015 New dh rides thread - no enduros because kickstand hates them

2015 Darkside. Technically maybe a downduro, due to 180mm rear, but it´s all I´ve got. Cockpit: Thomson bars, Chromag grips, Mondraker stem, Thomson post, Chromag saddle Drivetrain: Hadley hubs/Subrosa rims(26"), Saint shifter, Zee RD, Zee brakes,Saint cranks Damperz: CCDBA CS, Dorado Pro fork...

    Prototypes + Slayer + DH

I watched it three times in a row, then made my wife watch. Best mtb edit in general since I started lurking pinkbike 7 years ago. 50% to do with the soundtrack.

Anyone running $178 chinese carbon rims for DH yet? light-bicycle.com

Yeah, that's what I struggle to quite understand(their meaning, that is). Like I said, might be worth a go with the 142 option and get the right dropouts.

Anyone running $178 chinese carbon rims for DH yet? light-bicycle.com

Emailed Nancy, asked if they could provide a 150mm Hope hub, which they couldn´t. However, they are able to fix spacers or something like that on a regular 135/142 hub so it´d fit on a 150mm axle width. It´s one of the more cryptic e-mail replies I´ve ever gotten, so that´s my heavy...

    zero/minimal offset stems

Yeah, figured a 0 or 10mm stem necessarily will stack a bit, so a 10mm rise bar isn't out of the question. Thanks for the feedback, all.

    zero/minimal offset stems

Anyone have experience with seriously short stems? The darkside i have on order will probably be just a touch long with a regular stem, thinking of going with a 10mm direct mount stem, as specced on the Mondraker Summum. Anyone else tried this?

    Marzocchi 380 C2R2 Ti & Moto C2R Shock

Do the 888 and 380 employ the same stanchions? Would be interesting to know whether or not the 380 csa/upper crown are compatible with the 888 cr. Just would like the tapered steerer and flat crowns, 'cuz the latter look sexy. Buuut, if i buy a 888cr, ava cart, and a 380 csa, I'm probably in 380...

    M820 saint derailleur problem

A bit off topic, yet maybe not; planning to run the Zee wide range(FR) derailleur on a build. For durability reasons, would it be wiser to get an 11-34 cassette rather than an 11-36? Shimano says the wide range can handle up to 36t, but seeing pictures of the Zee in the highest gear on a one up...

6-7" bike conundrum - Commencal Supreme FR, others?

Thank you both! Decided, in the end, to go for the yet to be released banshee darkside. Even put in a deposit with the importer. Maybe a bit along the lines of the Uzzi, with adjustable travel/geo and all that. can also run 27" wheels with a different dropout, if thats something I want to do...

6-7" bike conundrum - Commencal Supreme FR, others?

Hey all, first post here, but have been lurking for quite some time. Been drooling over DH bikes for a long time, but never had the bones to buy one, until now. I am, though, moving to a place where lifts aren´t an option, and I have no idea if there´re any DH/FR crews around (wrt...
