That's more or less what I was expecting, but post surgery the doc re mom's he managed to smush a bunch of skin and flesh around and kept most of the length on the finger so we will see what I've got to work with one the cast comes off.
Anyone here running a half length finger? I just took the top off one of my index fingers (modt of the nail is gone) and am considering how to adapt my brakes to suit the shorter finger. I'm running Cura 4s on my DH bike and XT 2 pots on my trail bike. It looks like magura HC3s have good blade...
Modifying the cam is an option for sure, im not sure how much material ill have to remove to get them to where i want them though. I've already ordered two new lever blades to play with so Ill start there and work back, cost on the cam kit (which has vs the levers is identical at 24 aud each...
Same here. It is tight, there's a lot of meat on the pads, but it does fit. I get a bit of vibration from the rear brake but I'm pretty sure it's because I need that mount faced, I had some with previous brakes as well.
EDIT:
Cura blades (and all the spare parts you could want) available here...
Im inclined to try it, but given how far out the pivot is from the bar and the shape of the lever im not sure how effective or comfortable it will be. A new lever blade can be had for ~14 euro so its not an expensive exercise to try, but i just got my most recent pacakage of parts and i dont...
I am having a great time on my Cura 4s, bags of power, just enough modulation. Im not super in love with the levers though. I came from shimano and I'm used to having my levers run much closer to the bar than the curas can get. Has anyone tried an alternative lever with them? Modified the...
A few other European shops with listings but no stock as well. Most places are also out of stock of the 2 piston curas as well so there might be a supply issue of a component common to the two, or they're doing an apple and making us wait.
So, i have the option of picking up an Xfusion HLR coil brand new for a pretty decent price or having an RC4 built up from parts by a shock tuner. The RC4 will come tuned for the sunday, the Xfusion i will have to take to the same guy to be tuned for the bike. What would baby jesus do?

You're after ZS49 cups on both top and bottom (unless you want to increase the stack height to compensate for the lowered bb), and the headtube length is 127mm. Choose which ever angle you want.
No doubt that it will need to be cut. The piggy back on the DHX2 looks much wider than the RC4 with the offset adjusters, but I haven't held them next to each other to make a direct comparison, so its hard to say how much material needs to be removed from the side of the link, and if its too...
Sorry, what? Its got nothing to do with support, if your boys cant ride down a hill without someone holding their hand then thats their problem. There is next to no sponsership for fast guys that will get them anywhere, they have to go looking OS for that sort of support, usually in America...
The point was more to do with the weight of the bars comparitivly. If you're that keen on saving weight, i dont think the merrits of OS vs shimmed standard are of huge benifit.
Cheers manwithgun, Jungle at the moment im going to go with a small custom setup from a company in melbourne, PM me on farkin if you want more details. I think the major problem i found was that the bearings in the frame for the DW link were binding up and not letting the bearing reducers rotate...
