Hey I showed up right as you guys were leaving (I had the DropNZone jersey). It was definately interesting riding in the snow, it makes lines/jumps that are usually no problem a lot more difficult. At the end of the ride I did hit the trail gap in the snow, wish I had it on film.
I was wondering about the snow situation on the trails around Seattle is (the exits, SST, etc). We have a lot of snow up here in Bellingham, and most of the trails up here and in BC aren't rideable right now. Unfortunately they probably won't be rideable this weekend either unless it warms up...
Nice vid! The new gap is awesome. I hit it several times today after the 27 ride.
On a different note props to everyone that cleared out the fallen trees at SST. That place was a mess last week.
I think the Seattle area got the worst of it. I've been staying down there for the last week or so, was there the night of the windstorm. Trees down everywhere, power out, general carnage. However, I drove up to bellingham last night, and it looked pretty good (compared to Seattle). Many...
I was there on friday, several huge trees down. Cleared one line (the one that sets you up for the right side gap near the bottom) before the chainsaw ran out of gas. There was a big one down on the landing of the new gap, which also blocked off several other lines. There were also two big...
Isn't there a conversion kit out there for MTBs that replaces the wheels with skis and the cranks with pegs? I'd be interested in that for my old bike:lighten:
Also I heard they rent snowbikes at snoqualmie, is this true???
looks like SST might be the only place not buried in snow right now...
Whats the new gap look like? I saw a big landing under construction last time I was down there
It'd be cool if there was a covered and lit park that was big-bike friendly. Something similar to the SST flowpark with a roof.
Theres some big abandoned warehouses on the waterfront, hmmmm
Tons of snow in Bellingham, close to 1 foot at my house. Was jumping my bike off of my kick ramp last night and landing in fresh powder:biggrin:
Driving is a blast right now, most of the roads aren't plowed. Pitching the truck sideways in corners (on purpose) is fun
I'm in seattle for the next couple of days. I'll probably hit up SST tommorow morning. Maybe e27 on saturday if the weather cooperates (we can only hope haha). How is SST right now?
I have a direct mount stem that came with my 05 888 that i'm not running, brand new in bag. $60.00, retails for around $90
Fork springs for 7" or 8" 888 1 soft and 1 stiff. $15.00 apiece.
