Say hi if you see me down there, I'm tuning up the DJ bikes this week and I should be doing occasional weekend stops down there. Me: fat, bald d-bag on an all-white Transition Trail or Park, white helmet too. I need to get down there early enough to get a session in on that new park next to...
We love that spot, great place for a ride when the Shore is snowed in, and a good place to bring beginner/intermediate riders looking for a tatse of what the Shore is like.
Great day, and so fun to see and ride with so many friends. It was my first time over there: huge props to the builders for putting in trails that have a really fun and unique character and to ODS for running a professional show (and making good burgers).
I've got a year in on my '06 Dirtbag, the only bike I'll replace it with is another Dirtbag and by the way it's holding up I'm not going to need to do that any time soon! The pivots have never loosened up by themselves, and the frame is sturdy. Really sturdy. A lot of lateral stiffness too...
Right now I've got an '06 Dirtbag with an 888 up front for the big stuff, a pretty much stock '06 Coiler Deluxe that's my all around trailbike, a Transition Trail or Park for the skatepark (and DJs if the weather ever breaks around here) and a much-neglected '05 Kona Smoke that's been upgraded...

Just email them or call them, I'm pretty sure you could work out a way to test one. The only time I can recall an actual Transition demo day was a Blackrock in October '06 (the day that sold me on the Dirtbag and Julie on the Bottlerocket, the demo version she rode ended up being the exact bike...
Seriously, check out the South Surrey bike park! There's a crapload of skinnies and features to work on in there, and since it's in the lowlands it's pretty much snow free most of the time. Sandy, quick-draining soil as well. For review:

Burnaby's a good time, Nicole's is a fun trail that's close to the city and usually not snowed in. The South Surrey bike park is a blast for DJs and low-consequence skinnies from beginner to nearly expert level.
