Nothing wrong with actual medical traveling. I had friends go to Mexico to have dental procedures done, because it was cheaper down there than their post-insurance cost here, with little discernable difference in the outcome. I seem to recall seeing something a few years back that it was cheaper to fly to Spain and stay for a year while getting a hip replacement than it was to get a hip replaced in NYC.i do differentiate medical traveling for *actual* medical procedures which aren't approved in this country. from what i can gather, the individual i'm talking about bypassed all standard medical care and dove headfirst into woo nonsense.
In said teacher's case, I don't see why anyone would forego actual, proven medical care in favor of unproven treatments, especially if living is your goal. But hey, freedom isn't free.
