gonna be a long day. in the ambulance. Aside from the normal crap I have to bring my laptop and squeeze in another hour plus and exam of continuing ED that has to be done today. THen I get to drive 2 hours to Sacramento at rush hour to work at a horse show. I guess much coffee will be consumed today.

I was weak and drove a car to work. First time since Aug 6. In retrospect I probably could have rode, but I thought the roads/trails would be much more frozen than they are and todays winter storm warning is pretty grim. Lame.......
Time for some studded tyres for your winter commuting.

rode last night. on what used to be my favourite trail. it was natural and eroded and had some really tricky sections. it has a few pretty nice lookouts, so it's really popular with hikers. and since it's not officially a bike trail, we usually only ride it at night, in the off-season. in the last couple of years the erosion got pretty bad, and the trail braiding was off the charts. in their bid to "fix" the trail over the past few, the land managers have widened it and added crushed stone to the swamy bits. This year, they have completely re-routed the steep bits. No more slabs, no more trials-ing through creek beds, no more nothing.

I've been riding this trail since high-school, 30 years now, in the days of rigid bikes and cantilever brakes. it was always the epitome of riding for me, I don't think I've ever put in a full clean lap that included both the climbs and descents. it was an ever-changing puzzle that would offer up new challenges. but always fun, with lots of secret side hits if you knew where to look and bothered paying attention. I'm pretty bummed it's gone. it's definitely the end of an era.

R.I.P Wolf trail. I'll pour one out for you.

Same thing has happened to my OG trails here. Been a slower speed technical spot since the late 80s. I started here in ‘91. Now they are building a bunch of dirt sidewalks with berms. No more rocks and roots. Even my local hiking hill has been sanitized with similar 8 foot wide featureless “trails”.

yo yo yo

Its Friday and working from home. That's all I have.

Gloomy day out there. I didn't ride last night, because the freeway to get to the trails was absolutely SHIT FUCKED.

Was going to try again tonight, but maybe I'll save the gas money and energy for tomorrow.

:twitch: people, I tell ya. FTS is high.
FOR REAL

This new manager that side stepped into a new role and is trying to assert there way onto everything is...... :twitch:

And I have a 1:1 meeting with them today.
Another 1:1 meeting with my "lead" later today.
And then another 1:1 meeting again with the manager on Tuesday.

AND dude has come out of left field and started emailing shit at 11pm. LOL

best part is that this is a 3 person department. There is me, the team lead and then the manager. LOL FUCK ME

I don't know, but I enjoy posting on here, don't care if anyone reads anything I write.

I enjoy talking to people in person more than writing, because in real life at least I can blame hearsay.

Going to the science museum to watch an omni theater movie with the child then stop by the wife's work to say hi.

Fixing my old Echo chainsaw was a success.
Needs a new clutch though.

Still yearning for a new eStihl. Lets see if dark Friday delivers.

Making moussaka for dinner.
