I rode 2 different 27.5"s at Ski Bowl a few years back, but that was that only trail time I've done on them. I know full well I would ride more with a slightly more modern bike, but I need to ride period. My thumb is about 90%>
I don't ride enough to justify my new bike, but here's to hoping my new bike incentives me to ride more.

Recall wheels are larger now, too. So gearing must be nominally lower to stay the same effectively.
Also worth noting that years of riders trying to squeeze into their sister's jeans has left them with puny thighs incapable of pushing old school rear cogs. Goes along with their giant wheels that roll over everything yet seem to require a ramp made of deadfall for every log crossing larger than water bottle.
