Here. Painting. Got Hannah's 20" bike adjusted to fit her yesterday; the 16" and tag-a-long are getting listed today.

Still launching copious amounts of snot out of my face holes. Ugh. Go away.

Haircut today. Time to trim back these shoulder length locks to something more manageable.

Morning Monkeys.

8 years, my second longest marriage. I'm still surprised she has stuck around but I'm also grateful for it. We have no plans for today, but my laptop is out for delivery. So I got that going for me.

Damn near shat myself on walkies this morning. Coffee hit half way through and we almost had to run for it.

Coming from having Les schwab tires stores in the PNW I had to find something similar while on the road and have been pretty disappointed with the like of discount tire, and especially Big O tires.

I opted to mount the 40’s onto my beadlocks myself since I wasn’t getting the vibe that they knew what they were doing.

got them mounted and the first minute it was in the bay for balance a guy is adding air. I asked what he was doing and he said airing them up to 48, I told him I didn’t ask for that and they were fine, he then proceeded to tell me they need to be the right PSI, but I stopped him to explain what beadlocks are and why you can’t go over 40 psi, then I see a different dude not getting a weight count on the balancer, had to show him how to do that, and explain the process of a beadlock then the alignment guy had never done a Jeep, so had to explain 4 link suspension.

took myself a half day to balance 4 tires and align the Jeep since the store was inept. I am losing faith in people more every day.

Ive bought tires from Les Schwab for long enough to remember when you used to get a side of beef when you bought four. I was stoked when they started opening up here, and I've been nothing but disappointed. Over priced, service has gone downhill, and a refusal to stand behind warranty on a set of tires for the LEAF. I've bought my last set of tires from Les Schwab. They were bought out in 2020, and I doubt my experience is a coincidence.

Here in town it's either Les Schwab or Walmart and I won't let Walmart touch anything. We got the wife's snow tires at Costco, but Schwab does the swap.

Surprised they would even work on real beadlocks in the first place. Both because they don't have the expertise (clearly demonstrated) but also liability given that a lot of beadlocks aren't DOT compatible.

Probably just work on fakelocks so frequently they didn't know the difference between those and the real deal.

Had Walmart install a set of tires on the wife's Civic. Good price and no issues. Same location was kind enough to buy a buddy's truck off him. After they dropped it off the lift.

On second thought, probably a good call staying away.

I love being on a call with some rando tech company and there are 1 or 2 people going through the technical stuff.

And then there is the sales guy, aka "region executive account manager etcetc", just sitting there on camera drinking his water looking awkward.

I know not everyone working at Schwab is from here. I know EVERYONE working at Wally World is a local. I'm just playing the numbers.

You really expected them (or anyone outside of a dedicated offroad outfit) to be able to handle beadlocked 40s?

Les Schwab actually still does an OK job, but after my last couple of “professional mechanic” experiences, I am back to working on my own vehicles…

The store they opened downtown here was barely a year old.
They should have looked at the assault on libraries as a warning to book-sellers... :disgust1:

Costco for all things tires. Winter/summer swap gets done by me.

You've been lied to, Canadian bacon doesn't exist.

Its okay to call it ham.
Reminds me of that time I won a bet with @narlus and he had to send me a care package of Irish bacon/sausages/assorted meats. IIRC he and I had a number of friendly arguments over the definition of "bacon"... :D
