Stress level is higher this week than it has been for a while. Trying what I can to minimize it but some shit will not be resolved before next week. I know we talk a lot about stupid people but my god they are out there in full force making life difficult.

Tidy little ride yesterday with a beginner MTB friend. He’s very good for starting out a few weeks ago. Favorite shuttle spot made for some good, if not repetitive, rides.

Thinking about some retail therapy.

took most of the day unloading all the concrete forms and tools I bought at the auction, and ended up way more pressure treated timbers than I thought, not bad for 500 bucks. Today I am buying a 12x20 garage shelter from harbor freight to setup on the jobsite so I can store building materials and components for the build since I am running out of room elsewhere. Might run down to do some more anamorphic shots of the waves at shore acres as well.

Scheduled to get my Covid and flu shot tmw…:tinfoil:

Anyone else do simultaneous? Stronger/longer side effects?
I did the double whammy a few weeks ago, both in my left arm. The covid shots do a number on me but the two-fer was no worse than the previous jabs. I had a noon shot, felt like hell overnight, but woke up feeling fine.

'Morning, frens. I am back to work after 11 days off (counting weekends). It's kind of depressing how fast those 11 days went by. I remember the Thursday after work right before the break being so happy to have those days in front of me, and now I am back in the coal mines in the blink of an eye. I do have 570 new e-mails in my in-box, so at least I've got that going for me.

Ok sleep last night.

Had to come into work to check on some dudes laptop, that got flagged by the ALL POWERFUL AND MIGHTY crowdstrike.

Anyways, off to the hospital I go. Hopefully they are quick and cut this stupid annoying and sweaty splint off. Assume im getting a cast, we'll see. I doubt they have root beer as a colour option.

There was a wackload of people in the ER at the hospital on Saturday for pneumonia...

Have done simultaneous, and like others had no worse effects than one at a time. I'm lucky, I only get a sore arm. Also, Teh Spousal Unit™ just informed me that a single-jab Flu/COVID combo shot is available these days.

Tuesday: working and figuring out the fastest way to renew my passport.
Where ya going?

rode in to the office for the first time in a couple of weeks - kids were sick much of the last three weeks, so worked from home a lot. it kind of sucks to be here, because it's pretty slow at the moment, and no one else from my team is here to see if I can help out somehow...

weekend was back to normal too. brought kids to their ski practice on Saturday morning and did some volunteer work while there (stacking split wood). Sunday I finished building my hanging and sliding bike rack using sliding door hardware. works better than I expected. I could possibly even fit a 4th bike in that space now... then I went to my mom's to pick up all the skis I'd stored there while our basement was being renovated. And my fatbike.

Had yesterday off. Remembrance day is a day off for me. went for a muddy ride in the rain, but it was actually pretty decent. no complaints.

So yeah, overall can't complain I guess. Just nothing too exciting.

'Mornin y'all...

Just saw hand doc and he thinks the chunk of bone hanging off my thumb isn't what broke, that's just old. He showed another x-ray perspective that showed some fractures up by the joint. Judging from where it's turning black from bruising, that does seem accurate.

He poked and prodded the thumb and it didn't hurt, but definitely can't bend it much.

Canadia, eh !

dropped kid at school and wife at work; came home to feed pets, let dogs out, processed some laundry, and did some work. now picking up wife and taking her to get her car from the shop. then meetings, board meeting, and burgers.

kid had teh pneumonia a few weeks ago-seems to be going around. i feel like ass but not sure why-tired, achy, snotty, upset stomach (maybe from snotty). laying off the beers for a while and trying to sleep more.

carry on!

house painting should be starting later today. I am not there to witness it: in house (aka at the hospital) reading pancreatic cancer cases and the like

Morning Monkeys.

So my blood pressure was a little high when I went in for my surgery, so the wife bought me a really nice cuff to check it at home. The cuff was reading 140-160 over 90 on a regular basis, so she made me book an appointment. Go see the doc this morning and the nurse pulls 118/60 or something. She looks at the 27 readings saved on my device, checks my other arm herself. Then she tries my machine on me and it comes back 166/96. She laughs and says this machine will give me high blood pressure.

Doc comes in, he tries my machine using the instructions, even prop my arm up to heart level and it says 163/96. He laughs and says "Maybe you can still return it".

So apparently my blood pressure is totally fine but this damn machine is crazy.

Crashed on the mtb last night in the dark. Put my hand out and the entire force of me falling was directed into the tip of my middle finger. It feels like I'm going to lose my nail. I already smashed it in a door this AM. Good thing my hand was already cold.

Positive vibes are that nothing appears broken and no tendons/ligaments appear wadded up and disconnected.

Let's hope for minimal side effects.
I haven't had any reactions so far and have no allergies that I'm aware of, so that's good. Any my arms aren't yet sore, so that's nice.

I was also down a couple pounds, so that's also encouraging. Still got like 20 more to lose, but damn near half way is progress.
