Slept like dookie, glad it's a Friday.

MIL brought us 50 lbs of super large kids books yesterday. Like, 18" x 24" sized books. What am I supposed to do with this?!

Pretend to be a librarian, and profit*...

Too easier to read upside down if you're not side by side

*Large print and extra space between letters have proven to help readers track (move from word to word) more easily, because the extra spacing and larger letters allow eye movement to slow down during reading.² This improves fluency by helping readers string words together. It also increases their reading ability, accuracy, and speed for better comprehension.

Warsaw :/
Started the day with getting an email from the tax man. I have a fine to pay. Not the best mood because of that though thankfully it's small. They changed some stupid rules for people who rent out their flats and I didn't send some dumb paper for it. Thankfully our tax office is easy to communicate with.

The good thing is I feel like a proper polish person since I've spent most of my work from home making soup on the side and this country is all about soups. Screw Pierogi. Eat soup.

Also just found out Poland is building the largest pump track in the world. Don't know why as most people won't be able to do one loop but I will travel to see it once it's finished. Supposedly over 1km long. They mentioned something about doing 2 shorter loops next to each other for comps too.

hi everybody!

managed to find enough excuses not to bike commute. BUT I brought soap and deodorant and a towel and some stuff for lunches, so I may have fewer excuses next time. Traffic was a breeze so at least there's that.

Any advice for buying a wetsuit?
Yes. And yes they make a big difference. It is basically free speed and there is no reason NOT to wear one if the race is wetsuit legal. Anyway, as with many things, you get what you pay for. Xterra wetsuits are fine for a new triathlete, and they can be had relatively cheap. I used one for several years before upgrading to a Roka. The Roka (and most higher end suits) will be thinner material, more flexible, and more aerodynamic (faster materials and sleeker design). You're talking about $700 vs $200 though. You'll also need to decide if you want sleeves vs sleeveless. I prefer sleeves myself because I want as much float as possible. Some folks prefer sleeveless because they're cooler and make shoulder movement easier.

Riding the baggage carousel.

Surprise wake up early to rush kid to school as wife is dealing with some "intestinal issue". Seems very much like food poisoning, but we all ate the same thing last night and everyone else is fine. I may go back to bed.

eggs and toast consumed, coffee drunk'd, let's go.
:stupid:
I put cheddar and pesto on my eggs though, and it was amazeballs.

Yeah, I was honestly startled by how much faster the wetsuit was. I set faster 100m times than I did in the pool. I was in a pretty gucci 2xU wetsuit with like compression panels and zigzaggy armflaps but still... AND I was able to get out of it in a very short period of time, so there wasn't much penalty there.

Anyways, the xterras are coming in at like $50 used and $140 brand new, so it might be worth getting so I don't have to think about it.
