I have no idea where I am
We have an overabundance of them as well, primarily in the eastern part of the state. Not enough places open for hunting to make a significant dent in the population, and no natural predators to do enough of that work either. Instead, it's left up to cars and people who want to give the deer birth control (no joke).
 Birth control for deer.

Morning Monkeys.

So after some back and forth with my new overseas supplier we got the final graphics based on what they had on hand for the run of 30.

I have to say while I haven't gotten to see them in person yet, they seem to be the same specs as what Zumiez sells for $80 as a blank complete. If they are that good, I'll be excited.

<edit> and because I finally convinced them I wasn't a reseller any future orders will get a 20% discount. So yay.

I’ve dropped 900’ in a mile. Was in the early 90s at Camp Carolina in Brevard. They had an xc race there every year that was famous for the Heinous Downhill. Spectators lined both sides of the trail to watch the carnage. No quick release seat collars or dropper posts. So ridiculously steep and awkward.
there are some places at wilsons that'll drop you that quick and sustained (big lost cove, maybe no name/lettered rock, and one trail off the ohv trails). the pirate spots on our little here at poston park give you 500' in less than half a mile. here are two descents from yesterday:

that snooks nose ride i did the other week drops 3000+ feet over about 4 miles (almost all sustained dh)

i think there's a spot off the parkway in pisgah proper that'll get you some sustained steeps too.

so what do reel to reel recordings sound like

My folks had a reel to reel growing up. I don't know if I remember or would have even appreciated it at the time, but the only thing I can really recall is that my dad swore by it and it seemed unnecessarily complicated to me.
Speak for yourself. I've been, and that place sucks.
No authentic food?

Why don't you folks import some mountain lions and wolves?

:D
Can you imagine? The number of notifications I get from Ring and Nextdoor warning people about coyotes and black bears is astounding, I can't even fathom what would happen if we added some actual apex predators into the mix.

And thats your local spot. Ughhhhhhhhhhhhh

We have literally maybe one trail that can even begin to compare to yours and it drops about 800 feet in a mile, though majority of the descent is at the halfway mark... somehow didn't even ride it this year :( :( :(

Days is off to a nice start. Latte and a fire.

Now perusing the web for a new laptop.

Also ordered a 26T cinch chainring.
I blame you for two purchases over the weekend, the HG freehub and the chainring :p

Afternoon. Second marking period started today....hard to believe we're mid-November already. Hoping my kids start practicing or something...today's rehearsal was not good. Off to do some grocery shopping with small one before gymnastics and then it's hot tub and bed for me.

Man, if Luke thought Tatooine was bad, he should see Dalhart Texas. Surely even Most Eisley had better dining options. :dead:
I've got a buddy who spends every other week in Dalhart, for work. He's the anesthesiologist for the hospital there every other week. Anycrap, he says it's pretty damn boring.

Imma need an intervention or something. I have been looking at WAY too much crap on Alibaba and now have 4 sets of skate wheel "samples" coming. It's like Costco, the samples get me every time.

<edit> to be fair, they are between $13 and $15 a set shipped for basically Spitfire wheels in a few different sizes and hardness. They are $40+ a set locally.

I am also waiting on a quote for actual Spitfires for $14 a set plus shipping. So we shall see.

Ha, and the shop I ordered the skate tools from was one of the places I ordered a set of samples from. They are actually sending me 3 sets so I can check print quality.

I am thinking I will bring a bunch of crap with me to Nebraska when I visit this Spring. A bunch of cool wheels would be fun.

Let us know when you go visit, I’ll kick down for some fuel funds.
Don't even sweat it. I priced out the trip and it's cheap as hell. I'll stay in a casino and the trip might get paid for if I'm lucky enough.

Sounds like they have also gotten some contributions and he keeps trying to pay me back. I told him to keep it for future and I'll help with the future orders, too. Now that they are giving me a discount, I'm going to take advantage.

And the 3 sets of wheels I'm getting from the tool shop are all different printings. That's kinda cool, too. This is what I ordered but they offered something else.

Hell yeah!
Just booked tickets JH-Bogotá, $1400, two round trip tickets, extra legroom, 1 layover each way.
Even really good travel times. Red eye home, which I prefer.
Gonna be fun!

Edit: it was over $1k each round trip back east for Turkey day.

You’re not taking it too seriously, the guy doesn’t show up for work. Ask him what on earth is going on and be prepared for a bunch of nonsense. If he has some personal stuff going on, he should probably relay that to you. Actually, he should’ve probably already done that.

Explain to him what is expected of him. Document everything.

I don’t mean to come off as a hard ass, but I’ve been through this many many many times.
Same, only a couple of times luckily. Documenting everything is double plus good advice. But seriously this dude sounds like a slack asshole.
