Getting ready for school and work to resume tomorrow. Cleaning house and buy food so we are ready to face the real world.

Started watching The Sopranos. Never seen it.

1 hour indoor bike ride later.

Can't swing a dead cat around here without hitting strong winds and frigid temps. Achieved muscle fatigue on my bad-side, shuffled in rotator cuff exercises instead. Optimism rises. I too shall acquire mass quantities.

Watched Sicario the other night. God damn. That was good.
Second one is good too.

Similar to @Nick 's locale it's freezing here this morning, 12 freedums. The world is white from the freezing fog yesterday. Zero snow on the ground though. Maybe a chubby bike ride if I can work out if there's snow anywhere.

Morning Monkeys.

Had a nice date night dinner at a hipster restaurant downtown. We have like $700 ($600? now) dinner credits we need to burn through and this place was listed. I'm not 100% sure how we ended up with that much credit, but I know we got a deal for like 2x when we signed up. It was supposed to be used at Kann but you can never get a table there (we've been once), so it's just been sitting there. They finally opened it up to more places, so we actually have a chance to spend it all eventually. We will still try and get a table at Kann, but at least it's not the only option.

Last night's dinner.

Did Sapranos start-to-finish this past Summer - never seen any of it either. Quite the television event, it must have been. (read aloud in Yodaspeak is optional)

I also rode the hamster wheel, but it was a threshold workout. So no ability to watch anything else at the same time.

Hoping they'll make a third, as they set it up for it. Just not going down the OTT John Wick style everything else has done lately.

Sigh. I met two Sheriff's deputies on our very illegal trails this morning. They were nice enough, but they're obviously on the hunt.

"Nice trails you guys have got here."
"Mmm. Hmm."
"You know who builds them."
"No Idea."
"Figured you were going to say that."

A little more small talk and they started telling us that one of the tree companies (there are three owners plus BLM land here) had been complaining about cut trees. At which point we explained to the deputy that only people dumb enough to cut live trees on a tree farm or BLM land (without a permit) are meth-heads and naturally occurring morons.

One of the deputies eventually mentioned one site in particular that had a lot of "damage from cut trees" that the owner was complaining about. I confirmed the location he was talking about and told him the owner was full of shit. It was his own crew that went through a few years back did a commercial thin.

It was interesting conversation, because it is fine line to tread. Technically, we are allowed to ride bikes on this land. Building trails is however technically a no-no. There have been trails in this location for decades, but some recent events have called negative attention to them. So now they're watching, building trust and collecting info. Kinda feels like watching a cat getting ready to pounce.

Seems they're more on your side than that of the owner...

That’s a very positive and optimistic take. Certainly not my default. I treat them with as much courtesy and respect as I can considering I have very little trust in them.
