Early gym effort with better rolls into finish stretch. Double espresso & fritter earned. Planning on layering up for a three-face of the lower Berkshires during the weekend - something like 45miles and 6k' if roads are still open.

strong, gusty winds and 36 degrees.

electrician and town inspector supposedly wrapping up the generator project today. it would be poetic if the wind took out the power at the same time.

feeling kind of off today. hopefully it's just due to having a mediocre night's sleep.

let's get this bread.

Yah mang, strong wind advisory today. I am surprised I have not been activated for storm duty for work. Due to said wind, I ran on the treadmill again this morning to the tune of 7 miles. WFH day with work shit to do.

Morning Monkeys.

Should be WFH but I gotta run some errands, so I will pretend to be in the office. It's basically me and the pres most days. But folks should at least be online today.

This online class is kicking my ass. I'm only on problem set 2 and I'm ready to quit. None of the solutions were covered in class so I've had to do a ton of searching to figure it out. And I'm still lost.

Morning, vacation is over, working from home.

oldest boy is 900 miles away at a nordic ski race. youngest boy is with his grand-mère at the National Art Gallery.... I think I may for forgotten to post that he broke three of his fingers (falling from his bed of all things - lying on his stomach reaching for a sock on the floor). It's a buckle break, so they only need to be buddy taped together. could have been worse, but it still sucks caus' there's no "high risk activities" for him for the another 3 weeks. i.e. no gym class, no soccer at recess, no skiing, no toboganning, no skating, no playing in the "snow mountain" the plow leaves when it clears our court... nothing but TV and video games... pic of the swelling and bruising from 2 days ago:

That sucks. Could you get a hand splint so he could nordic skiing at least? If he does that...

just went to the pharmacy looking to see if they have a sam-splint (I think is what they're called?). Nope. I'll keep looking. I'd also like for him to have something to protect his hand at school at recess. 6th graders aren't particularly known for being gentle and careful...

high winds took out our neighbor's internet/cable-tv again. the path for these wires goes across our property in a wooded section. so the neighbor is more or less guaranteed power, internet, and/or TV outages during any high wind events. we removed some of the dead snags to improve the situation, but tree branches from the living trees make their final leap for glory at their own pace.

i've asked the town to demonstrate that they have a valid right-of-way or easement for the pole & cabling. they remain curiously silent on the topic.

the police office who was dispatched asked me if it was a low voltage line. I told him that he was allowed to test it with his tongue if he felt like the odds were in his favor. he directed traffic instead of playing with the wires. the dog and I wandered off to find other amusements.

where the trails are
Plan was to just drive home first thing this morning, Copper got 23” in the last 24 hours so we made a detour, 4 laps in resolution bowl, knee-deep perfect conditions.

Now I’m back in golden and it looks almost dry enough to ride bikes tomorrow!
