Just had mine done last week. No tightening of the diet.

Think I'll go have some bacon and eggs for breakfast. :homer:
For the past few years my cholesterol has been hovering around a point of concern for my doc. Last year I made sure to get a couple of mindful weeks of eating in before my test and the numbers were the lowest they’ve been so I’m trying to replicate that. Genetics isn’t helping since mom and dad have similarly high numbers. One gets meds and the other doesn’t. Both are alive and healthy.

you should burn a few, just to throw everyone for a loop
We get a ranking number at the beginning of every year that tells you the order of layoffs if they happen. I'll be turning the lights off on my way out if they get to me. If I didn't have a bum shoulder I would have volunteered if they were allowing it.

What do sick days have to do with looming lay-offs?

It looks like winter has finally started here. Pretty much nonstop rain for the next week.
We don't get paid for any leftover sick days when exiting employment. So people who think they will get canned are burning them down.

I saw a video by an employment/HR guy and he made a point of saying sick days are part of your compensation package. Not taking them is leaving money on the table. I never thought of it that way before, but I do now.

Sick time is just accrued as PTO hours for me, they used to be separate - I think I have about 600 hours of grandfathered sick time...

Heh. Weird shit.

A ranking of where you stand on the importance-to-the-company list, seriously? I assume that your compensation package is commensurate your ranking?

A couple of folks here and I joke about having to turn off the lights on our way out…

Yup. Theoretically ranking is related to performance, as is compensation.

It is kind of nice to have a formal measure of your job security when it comes to planning your life and shit.

Gotta ask for "total testosterone" to get complete picture.
I’ve got a few gym contacts that have suggested “supplements” and I’ve always avoided such things due to concerns about side effects. However, as I’ve aged I started looking at how long I really want to live and the quality of life I want to have. I’m at a point where I might trade away a few years for a bit more muscle mass and energy while I’m here.

sensitive subject that men try to avoid.

Start here: Adam test

After to many "yes" I went in for complete blood test. Still awaiting results.

Interesting. Would you say your yes answers were ones that slowly transitioned from no answers or did they seem to all trigger around the same time in a short (less than a year) time?

I'd say approximately 18 months.
At first I thought it was just fatigue after going from an office job to becoming a paid trailbuilder. But then, even after cutting back the workload, I started having other symptoms like shitty sleep and being freaking hot all the time. That added to the constant fatigue, the no will to do anything and not finding much joy in the things I used to love.

Good to know. Things in the last year seem to have made a noticeable shift. I have a variety of assumptions about why. Might as well check the blood. Maybe drugs is the answer.

Those are common symptoms of working in an office.

Sounds like an old fashioned case of depression. Ask me how I know.

Could be. But often, testosterone deficiency is mis diagnosed. It's easier for the average MD to give you pills and send you home rather than investigate root cause.
