mmmn gotta love that first sip of espresso at 0230 in the morning:Alcoholic:

yesterday turned into a hell day. one of my transports got hit in Oakland by a red light runner whose occupants bailed out of the vehicle and ran. Client and driver on board our vehicle were thankfully not hurt. from the temp plate on the vehicle I'm betting they had just stolen the honda that hit us. Back at the office we fired another guy.IMG_20250117_024027 (1).jpgIMG_20250117_023933 (1).jpg

Bailed on my ski last night because of intestinal issues. Now my back hurts. Couldn't sleep last night because the pain didn't allow me to lie down. Tried sleeping siting on the edge of the bed hugging my pillows, but didn't work. Resorted to morphine... Might have to carry on with that today. Hopefully this settles down before my overnight trip to a buddy"s cabin tomorrow.

Was planning on riding tonight, but I woke up and remembered that I offered to help someone at work with something.....at 6pm. God dammit.

Anyways, coffee now. Work soon.

Friday before a long weekend and I am booked solid with meetings. I thought about working from home, but GUILT got the better of me and I came into the office to satisfy my twice-a-week in-person requirement.

Hello from the other side. I must have LARPed 1000 times

sleeping well because I'm abusing sleep aids. Yay! Found a youtube "song" that masks my tinnitus so I am able to sleep. Hoping I can abuse that to continue to sleep. I think this may be brought on by a virus, but not having any sound at all would be great. I'll take better over perfect for now. Starting to feel better too, which is great.

Going to try making pizza tonight, and maybe a beer.

I aint got time to bleed......

Burned the phuck out of my hand welding yesterday, cheap thin gloves caught a bright hot blob and decided to melt through my fingernail like alien blood. good times

Should be done with the major fab of the truck rack today.

oh and a dump run is in order today, after I take a dump
Oh dude, surprised you didn’t drop some borax in the hole then hit with a hammer to really make it an awesome day.

In Oakland? That's odd? I was in Oakland yesterday. 10 years ago it was heading in the right direction, now it's a complete shithole. I don't ever see it getting any better in my lifetime, especially after losing 3 major sport franchises.

Glad no one was hurt

to make an awesome day even awesomer, my wife said yesterday that there was an awful rattle coming from the back wheel of our car (2013 CX5). I knew from swapping winter and summer tires myself that the shock mounts were pretty close to being dead. I called my preferred, local garage, but they had 3 mechanics call in sick today and were proposing to book me in on Jan 30th... So I called my closest Canadian Tire, and they could take me today. Luckily, sort of, this Canadian Tire is right by my office. so I can wait for the work to be finished in one of the meeting rooms/collaborative spaces that has a nice big couch to lie on. but now people are wondering why I'm at the office but not working, and have to explain wtf is going on here. yay. my biggest issue is I have to wait to take cyclobenzaprene (or morphine) till I'm home because I can't drive when I'm on either of those...

I looked it up and those rear shock mounts look similar to the ones that were on my old Mazda 3.

After years of trouble free owner ship I ended up going through 3 of them.

Mighty annoying but they were at least only $40 or something. And pretty easy to replace.....though not easy or ideal when it's -15 outside!
