3 teenage punks decided to try armed carjacking in my neighborhood for sport. 2 apprehended. Local schools on lockdown and a lot of police presence now.

Emergency sirens going off in the 'hood right now. They sound like the old-fashioned tornado sirens...

WTF is that about?
Same, and saw something on FB that they went off in downtown Denver as well. Ours had a recording that came on after... "This is a test of the emergency broadcast alert" or something like that. Super freaky in a air raid siren holocaust sort of way.

They tested out system in Jamestown a few weeks ago. The siren & recording were echoing off the canyon walls. Was very intense & crazy sounding. Typically all we hear is the creek.

How are chapter 40b projects in your town doing?

Still sick. Seeing a doctor tomorrow. FTS.
Yeah so our idiot town board apparently "accidentally" traded a critical piece of land with a local owner who then tried to develop a larger apartment complex right in the middle of town. The bluebloods put up a two or three year legal fight and got it re-placed at the very corner of our town, but now it's in their precious school district instead of with the poors (where I am). At least it finally got passed. I am in favor of responsible development and that project, in addition to this one, represent to me additional tax revenue and people to spend their money at local businesses.

If they told camp dickbag to pound sand, instead of offering him double the property's value, he would be forced to (god forbid) sell to a developer who could put up ~30 1.4 million dollar homes. Boo fucking hoo, your Land Rover would be outclassed by a G wagon.

So, instead of tax revenue collected on 30 massive homes, we have to pay for Timmy's Kumbaya Emporium so we can watch it rot for 5 years before the town can figure out how to mow the lawn.

Damn, Garver is good bit outside of Yaak which is already the end of the road/world...

If you haven't been before, there's a small section of old growth cedar grove North of Libby that they didn't log and turned into a tiny state park

https://www.visitmt.com/listings/general/national-forest-picnic-ground/ross-creek-cedar-grove-scenic-area.html

It's not the Pacific NW cedar/redwoods but it's pretty cool for MT, since lodgepole pine and aspen are our overwhelmingly predominant species...

And of course reach out if you'll be in SW MT/Yellowstone area...
i've been meaning to go there since my first trip.....washington may have to wait....between ID/MT i have enough to occupy my time....and i have to try to make time to hike to the big hole lookout near libby....

Just ordered a trampoline for the back yard. I hope the boys will like it. Now I just need to dig a big hole to fit it. Free exercise!

Did a quick road ride to stretch the legs before the weekend double hitter with 100k gravel Saturday and 140k road ride Sunday. The gravel ride will go through part of the country shaped by the ice age and with trails dating back to the viking age. Sunday we will take advantage of the hills created by the ice age and get a lot of climbing compared to what is normal in Denmark.

Just opened joint bank accounts with my lady. Kinda feel adulty... not sure I like it. But also now now it's like she's paying for half my beers, so I guess that's okay.

a. be careful for crissakes
b. that's impressive. I don't think I could poop in the car at a stoplight under any circumstances.
It really snuck up on me. I had to have a 5 minute nap in a strip mall parking lot.

I fell asleep driving once. Thankfully on a very wide part of 405 where the trucks usually pull out, so the shoulder was super rough, but when nobody was there. My girlfriend at the time was in the car behind me and she was sure that I was done for. Anytime I'm tired I pull off now. It isn't worth it.

Do you have a chef and a driver? If not... you should get those.

@binary visions - where the FUCK is our monocle smiley?!?
The woman who gave us the house for the week as an anniversary gift sold her real estate agency to Berkshire Hathaway a while back. She's rolling in it; we're just borrowing.

Our total in with groceries, international flight costs (most was points), and the rental is $600. I doubt we'll break $1200, as I intend to sit in the sun a read books or surf, assuming it picks up.
