You know what's really good for breakfast? Peach/blueberry cake and coffee. :homer:
you know what's really good with lunch? a beer or two. :weee:

weird night last night. had a dream in which i saw a very claustrophobic room. i am not claustrophobic but in the dream felt it intensely and then woke up and could not shake it. felt like i was losing my mind. went downstairs and hung out/stretched/tried to relax for a few hours. eventually went back up and fell asleep but still feel that way a touch. fucking weird/terrible. gym with kiddo this afternoon; maybe bikes tomorrow afternoon?

I bought him a new giggle pig and took him to a new to us trail system to rip it (it is so squishy).
What did you [two?] get? I need to start looking, but my aversion to retail pricing structure is not meant for these inflationary times with limited inventory.

Maybe I can find a last year's model...

Thanks Joe Brandon

I haven't gotten anything yet...I really want to ride a couple of options before I invest.

I got Earl last year's Yeti SB130.

If you kind of know what you are looking for, I can look around here for you in another month. There WILL be excess inventory this year locally.

Kinda starting to hear this as well... past orders are starting to show up at bike shops just in time for winter. Might be some good deals to be had, guessing shops won't want to carry inventory over the slow season.

Perhaps the first known instance of a male version of "happy wife/happy life" axiom:

New bike for hubby,
no longer a teletubby

Right arm... appreciate any insight you may have as I know you're a yearly+ buyer/reseller of bling-y rides.

I was thinking of 27.5 or 27.5+ now that that has jumped the shark.

I'm light on my gear so probably more XC than downhill but could benefit from some of the newer downhill friendly geometries I suppose.

Given the paucity of my riding time this season, I'm most interested in holding out for a deal then any specific brand.

My dream bike is any [factory second] GG bike but since the [unrideabru] Yeti is 8-9 years old whatever I buy will be a big improvement.

Thanks in advance for any pointers / suggestions / screaming deals you and others may run into!

Good to hear the bike industry may finally be getting sorted out -- now if only the Covid-trustafarians could cause a similar glut by selling off their gently used 2 year old Ram Promaster vans en masse, flooding the market and bring down prices for us poors...

You know when you're just sooooo looking forward to a call that you can't wait to make it?

Retiree at one of my plans was a little riled up that there are fees for distributions where there weren't at the last record keeper. Reason being is that before everyone paid a higher admin fee. When they switched over, fees dropped, but you now pay fees as you use services.

Guy is hardcore "mih writes; librutarian" kind of dude. So I got to tell him that the plan structure changed so that you pay for your own services as you go vs. everyone else paying higher fees for services they aren't using. You could hear his brain grinding as he tried to reconcile it.

Did you tell him to just quit taking distributions? Problem SOLVED!

"Worked" hard watching the Man Utd game, they finally turned up for the first time in a long time.

Going to roll out for a little ride on the road bike shortly if the weather continues to play nicely.

Rumors over on MTBR is that Yeti will have all new designs for ‘23, perceived value of prior models will likely trend downward. Keep in mind I am in a ski town, the motivation to discount in order to free up retail space for skis and winter products is higher. The discounts will likely start in a month or two.

That's actually what I am hoping for. It's tough for me to rationalize a new FS rig right now (coming into field hockey and hunting season so I don't get to ride much at all) but I have a feeling I would ride more if I got one and that would make me happy (plus SqEarl owes me a birthday gift lol). I am on the fence between an SB130 (what Earl got) or a 115 since I am not really hitting bigger drops.

Would you be interested in some other brands? I think I Rocky Mountain Element might be absolutely perfect for your needs. (120/130).
Maybe....I've never ridden one. The husband and I have usually had the same bikes (that way we can carry the same tools/drop outs, etc. on longer rides and when we travel). I'd have to try to find one locally to throw a leg over and see how it feels. I rode his new medium SB130 and it was a little long for me (which I expected) but felt good when I was descending some techy terrain.

hbd @TreeSaw!

and keep in mind, to a certain point more travel isn't necessarily about hitting huge drops but will rather allow you to maintain more speed and descend faster over chunky/ledgy terrain. in todays bikes you don't give up much in weight/pedaling efficiency until you get up to full enduro bikes, especially compared to 5-10 years ago. bikes are awesome!

Sitting at desk for 2.5hrs and... Nerve pain is back. I'm starting to think that my desk is part of this issue.
Have you tried a magnesium supplement? Ingot recommended it from when I smashed my arm and shoulder, but it had a lovely side effect of making my work-induced RSI way better.

The Cygo Lite finally died tonight. 11 years old. I wish I could buy another one. It got stuck in flashing mode after I got stuck in a shower. It was my only chance to ride this week. I knew better.
