Ubiquitous plug for Ross Creek cedar State Park whenever I hear the word Libby...

Just a small Grove of uncut cedars, AKA what passes for Big trees in Montana

ETA: if we don't get more of our late March early April snow there might not be much visibility this summer, my shitbox box in Idaho is supposed to be 50s this week...

No bueno for forest fires
I spent nearly a month fighting a fire above those cedars in the wilderness. Rather than flying out we opted to hike the crew down through them on the way out, pretty amazing.

In the bathroom, fighting a battle
The best part about working with inept people is that all their problems become your problems, yay! Time to track down new brushes for the polishers because basic machine maintenance now falls under engineering I guess?

Apparently there is a troll group or something somewhere that publishes public zoom calls like an online class or community meetings and they call in, take over the meeting and share porn or in this case, rub one out for folks to enjoy.

The HOA will never be the same, just saying.
Are they available for hire? Have a Zoom meeting at 2:00 I'd rather not have, willing to pay up to $50 for somebody to Jeffrey Toobin the thing.

estoy aqui. Woke up with a migraine aura. fucking stupid. At least it allowed me to pop the pill before it had fully set in. Took a while to fall asleep thanks to impending panic. If it were the weekend I could've done something about that, but I need to be functional today. Doesn't hurt too bad, at least.

Cold is starting to dissipate. I will hop on the trainer today if I can, tomorrow fo sho.

I have no idea where I am
Contemplating what to do with the remainder of the day. Not really up for a hike. Don’t want to ride the same old trails. But those old trails have new fallen tress to be dispatched. Let me go see if the Silky Saws are with my gear.

Just finished the coffee I poured for myself 6 hours ago. Dammit where did the day go. Feeling the hangry setting in now. Maybe more caffeine and some sugar will help.

Managed to drop 14 sheets of 5/8” OSB on my toes earlier today. So I got that going for me, which is nice.

Pajamas and slippers eh, ready for some walmart shopping?
Please. They’re Crocs. And I never Battle the Bubbas™ while wearing pajamas, I go full hazmat suit when we have to go to Walmart. Also, Walmart is kinda the only option in this town.

Haley's fork showed up today. I forgot to order her axle conversion kit though. So in a box it sits for another week.

pondering buying a new take off 38 from le pinkbike. 'tis a good deal. would be a 29er. plan would be to run my 27.5 in it and have the ability to swap in a 29 if i wanted to try mulleting. did the same thing when i got my 27.5 36 and was still running 26...decisions, decisions.

in general i'd say do it, but that would bump the a2c a fair amount.

OK, so I like to think I am as open minded as anyone. But my 14 YO just came home from his (sort of trans-ish) friend’s house with a nose ring. like a ‘ferdinand the bull‘ nose ring. I am all for free expression, but is it wrong to be concerned that this is going in a potentially ugly direction? We want the best for him, and he is a great kid. So far no drugs, no drinking, etc. But this just seems like all it will do is potentially alienate people.
As Avy knows lately, parenting is hard!
I feel old.

“transh-ish” is irrelevant, Boomer.

Make it mundane. “You know how to keep that thing clean?” “Do we need to go to Walgreens to get stuff to keep the hole clean?”

It’s only as big of a deal as you make it…

Hygiene was discussed.
And there is more to the ‘they’ friendships, he has been struggling with his own gender identity for a few years. Which is fine. But trans people suffer from astronomical rates of drug abuse, depression, suicidal ideation etc. As compared to the base population.
And with my own history of depression and alcohol/drug abuse, this is a very scary and real thing to be concerned about.

14. So just beginning to figure things out.
It's a really easy to get infected and dangerous when infected place. I'd go with "hey, if you're gonna do this, let's let this heal. Then we can get one done properly".

I can't help with the them/they and psych concerns. Might be worth talking w the school psych and tell them your concerns. Not that he's going that route, but more his ability to handle it.

some of that is a response to lack of support and acceptance from family and/or society. i've seen it in some of my lbgt friends. just be supportive.

also, it's called a septum piercing. i used to have a nose ring and an industrial (helix to rook), those are gone but i still have my conchs pierced.
