pretty apt metaphor for the current administration

I learned a lot when my buddy bought Santiam Bikes. He's managed to keep it afloat for like 15 years now, so that's awesome. But another buddy of mine did it the wrong way and I got to witness that. Santiam owns 100% of their inventory, Trailhead Cycles was all on 6 month credit. It was a disaster.in other news, I've given half a thought to buying a local bike shop. The shop was apparently part of a chain of three and the owner shut down two because of health. the shop sucks, but it's in a bike shop desert, close to a new-to-be-built bike path, and in a wealthy part of town. I feel like with the right vision (gucci bikes to gucci individuals) you might make it a more viable business.
alas, my understanding of the bike industry is that the fastest way to get to a million is to start with 2 million
Business or business + property? Learned of an absolute shitshow in the NYC area for the renting of shop space last year. Berkshire Bike and Board expanded into CT recently.in other news, I've given half a thought to buying a local bike shop. Looked at the real estate, it looks like a lease so that's a big downer. It's a weird situation- busy road, standalone building sandwiched between luxury car dealers and some other crap. I can't imagine the lease is that expensive as it looks (based on inventory) that all they sell are commuter bikes and kids' bikes. They have a MASSIVE inventory of worthless shit that should have been sold 15 years ago. Want brand new LOOK shoes from 1989? They got em....Business or business + property? Best wishes - southern NE needs shops which can retain focus. Was a rough couple years here post-coffeboi19Looked at the real estate, it looks like a lease so that's a big downer.
