I was a Google yesterday for some brainwashing about their latest cloud offering. It was a cool event with some advanced options which I am currently trying to take advantage off too. They are also trying to make their offering more environmentally friendly but mostly compared themselves with the rest of the industry and then with some long term goals but hey at least they are trying to do something.

Film festival time. Bought tickets for a local horror fest that has surprisingly good lineup. A supposedly great (commercially great, not artsy fartsy bs) Senegalese Horror, some good frenche one and Terrifier 2 just to see what's the fuss about a movie that makes people faint.

Also sleepy AF. When you can't ride bikes or run life is a bit boring. Need to buy some books that don't annoy me.

How do ya do there, Biff! I was planning on working in the office today, but I had a 7:30 Teams meeting this morning, and while on that call decided to WFH. It's nice that my boss could not give two fucks.

Anyway, I swam 2700 yards early this morning and have a one hour run to get done at some point.

At eye doc, waiting to see the neuro ophthalmologist for a followup. Of freaking course they dilate my eyes, ugh I hate that.

Ride night with the friends, but it's supposed to rain the entire time. We'll see if everyone bails or not..

Coughing Baby Aya so I shall WFH. Babysitter to cover me while I pop over to the hospital for my ortho hand appointment, where I should be officially cleared for all activity.

present. up too late, but got a second wind and was productive. still sorting / purging after the carpet install, but most of the purging is done, the rest is mostly just reorganizing stuff and putting it away. we have gotten rid of a lot. what remains is being much better organized, especially after a lot of stuff piled up in the guest room after living here for almost 10 years. setting up my home office in here also helped. also managed to get the jalapenos pickled last night. that's what kept me up. went fairly quickly & smoothly, but still took longer than anticipated. wound up with a baker's dozen of 16oz jars of delicious spicy pickled jalapenos, including 2 jars of all ripe (red) jalapenos. son is still having issues sleeping, seem to be getting worse again. that's a challenge with his condition. we finally have a neurologist for him, so hopefully that will get him back on the right path.

coffee is good this morning. the mayorga winter roast i like is out. bagel from the good bagel shop with egg and pepper jack.

Here. Pulled the wheels off the kart and brought them into the house last night to minimize heat cycles (apparently impacts life of tires). Look on Wifey's face... Eyes rolled so hard I thought the world was gonna slow down.

Also might have found a longer term transit option. Buddy needs to borrow all my woodworking tools for a reno that involves building cabinets/shelving. He also has a truck. We're probably going to do a trade - truck a day every few weekends, him the tools as long as needed. Win-win.

Coffee.

Had a service done to our furnace yesterday - just maintenance - no repairs, and afterwards the fan wouldn't shut off. Had to call the tech back to fix it, and it sounds like the board may be on its way out. It's an 18 year old split system, so I've been waiting for a failure of some kind to blow everything up. Would make sense that something fails now; I'm paying for major dental work, Christmas is coming up, and my wife is due in about a month. But most importantly, I'm building a bike. Priorities. Overtime here I come...

Tell him you're looking for someone who goes the extra mile. Someone who takes the initiative and is ready to get his hands dirty. A real go-getter who doesn't mind drinking from the fire hose.
Then turn down any offer and tell him he should be happy for the exposure.

Alright guys. Music search. Looking for a peppy, "go-fast music" song with a good intro or 30sec segment. Maybe accelerating in intensity, because, go-fast. Here's the key, school appropriate, for Haley's talent show video.

I initially pulled a side AFI - Boy Who Destroyed the World and Rise Against - Broken Dreams, Inc. but the lyrics on bother are not appropriate.

Millencolin - In a Room has a nice segment in the intro, but I want to branch beyond our little bubble of music.

Dude, stay away from the wiener rock and stick with girl bands. There are tons of girl punk bands going back to the late 80s that fit your description.

The first 30 seconds of that song will accelerate your heart rate a touch. It would be perfect for a school video too, very warm friendly vibes.
