Bike ride turned into success. I spotted a rider midway through my usual after work loop, the rider disappeared behind the hills but reemerged much faster that I expected as I saw he was on full rigid - the only way he could get to where he was is down a steep chute with a rocky hard right followed by steep climb. I gave chase to see what I could see - it took me a half mile to catch up. When I did I was super impressed that the guy was riding an early 90s Giant ATX with 1.65" tires. Turned out he was a nursing student and I'm guessing the bike was older than he was.
Tonight I rebuilt my wounded crabon rear wheel, pretty much from scratch. Also, assembled the bike so I should be able to ride *my* giggle pig tomorrow again. Yay!
Broken nipple at mile 30 into the Maah Daah Hey adventure, followed by 80 miles of rough riding without a spoke. I had to pretty much re-build the wheel, sans re-lacing it.
