That's silly. What wildlife needs protecting at night, but doesn't during the day?

If anything, it should be the other way around - closed to protect bike riders from wildlife. A few encounters with groups of coyotes and bears has proven this for me. :busted:
No coyotes or bears here, but the deer tend to be (unnaturally) dusk, dawn and night active because of disturbances by humans during the day.

Yeah - pretty much everything around here is most active dusk -> dawn. Our county open space trails close an hour after sunset and open an hour before sunrise to give the mt lions and bears a break. :)
