Had a really good session at the gym yesterday. Finally I can start putting more weight on my shoulder. Still feeling very lucky that I got out of that with only bruises. My headaches are also more or less gone. Maybe the Mips did its job! The new helmet has the integrated Mips you can't even see and actually has a little better fit too as the old one sat a little higher on my head than I liked.

I was going to buy a stick wac on some kind of black Friday deal but they all seem either overpriced junk like Dyson or cheap junk. Alone that the batteries on must do not use the same standard so you can use whatever you want is crazy. How come we can get to usb C on phones but they can come to a standard on our consumer products for an interface. Everybody I know with on has had to throw it out after some years.

Going to go look at that town house after lunch when there is an open house.

I have a LG stick vac that was purchased on a really good sale, if it wasn't on sale it wasn't worth the money. The internal angles are sharp and there are quite a few catch points for bit of string or whatever to get stuck on then everything else sticks to the string.
The battery lasted about three years but they are hot swappable and there is room in the stand for a spare battery.
Dyson can eat a dick, gets knighted then moves production OS, fuck him!
I bought a mains powered modern Chinese made Miele, it's hot garbage compared to the older army tank ones.

Yes, the crazy thing is the old vacuums would last forever. Remember I worked at Nilfisk for 5 years and their vacs used to be indestructible. Also the whole Dyson bs about how bags are the worst is so stupid. You change a bag in 2 min and the machine is like new vs trying to clean a Dyson. This is what happens when product development is lead by the marketing department and finance.

Btw Dyson had announced big layoffs when I was in Singapore when I was out there a month ago so they keep screwing what ever country begs for their business. He was a brexit fan too. I think Elon has more integrity than this guy.

I did the only right thing and not buying anything right now.

Happened to be in the vicinity last night, so I went to my 20 year class reunion. Had maybe 20/320 show up. Funny to see how everyone's life trajectory has diverged over the years. Also funny realizing I've only kept up with literally 2 of them.

Speaking of which, going riding with one of the aforementioned shortly. Been riding with him now for 25 years and counting. Wild.

vacuum chat: we have a shark floor vac that is plasticky but works well. We had a stick vac that was great, but did not have a replaceable battery so eventually wouldn’t Hold a charge for longer than a minute. We ended up with a ryobi as it has a replaceable battery that matches everything else we have in the house. It works OK but probably not as good as the shark. Good luck have fun!

In other news, I decided to spring for Fascat coaching. I’m only about a week in but it’s good to have a plan and be making progress toward a goal.

We have both a canister floor vac and a stick vac which doubles as a handheld thing. Battery on that is replaceable

We've got one of the cheap stick vacs. So long as you're honest about what it's intended for, they work okay. It's by no means a replacement for a real vacuum, but it'll pick up a lot of the every day dirt off hardwood. Forget about it on carpet, it doesn't have the suction or the battery life. I hear you on the disposable nature, seemingly everything these days is transitioning into the realm of either being disposable or requiring a subscription.

It was a fraction the price of my in-laws Dyson and performs just as well.

Heading home from friends place here before too long.

We’ve had an Orek XL for 15 years now. Have had to replace a few parts, but they are readily available. It’s ugly and not all cool looking but it sucks.

The lemmings are amusing. The SF Outlets are just down the freeway from me. The hoards of Black Friday must buy crap folks are causing 5 mile backups on I580 trying to get off at the 1 lane exit from each direction and are just sitting there for hours on end. It's good thing us locals all know the back rural roads and can avoid the insanity.

Espresso has me motivated. I'm going to go for another ride today

Rode some of my impermenent winter lines.
Fun stuff on rocks.

Then a good walk with the dogs.

Nothing else all day. I might nap accidentally.

Off to get some riding in. Did not realize was sitting on a text to join an AM ride, had to make up a lie and say I was doing very important gym efforts at the time.

Morning Monkeys.

So the pots all work, but none of our pans do except for the cast iron on the induction cooktop. So I guess we gotta get a couple new pans, too. Go figure.

Taking Lil Man to a Blazer game tonight, so that should be expensive.
