Karting. Donuts were brought. Shoveled a LOT this morning, including 87y/o neighbor's drive and sidewalk. No way in hell I'm letting him shovel 8" on an ice base.

Its essentially what you get when an industry is standing around with their hands in their pockets and no coffers to exploit.

They also seem to be running out of new ideas. Perfectly content to put out the billionth Star Wars movie or some other facet of the never ending Marvel Universe.

The MCU is in a whole other league in itself, They are literally rewriting the way the industry does business and plans ahead.

Concur. Between said Harvard MBAs, McKinsey (https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.theatlantic.com/amp/article/605878/), and our collective unwillingness to invest it anything that doesn't offer an immediate or short-term ROI (https://www.theatlantic.com/science/archive/2021/08/america-into-the-worlds-factory-again-industrial-finance-corporation/619793/), the future looks bleak.

In a van.... down by the river
Obligatory Powerball ticket purchase yesterday, in mere seconds to print my 3 quickpick, 34k tickets were also printed.

If I hit the jackpot, everyone here gets a dollar.
You do know that you have a FAR greater chance of catching COVID, ZikebolaAIDS, and the crabs all at the same time, right? :D

That reminds me... I should wake the kids and get them out there shoveling... :homer:

Evening last night went according to plan. Dropped kids off with MIL, and checked into a hotel with my wife. Place was not quite as described, but whatever, there was no screaming and bickering kids.

We don't have cable TV at home, so we decided to see what was on (the 70" screen). Turns out this place had not one, but two porn channels! It was quite a surprise to be scrolling through the channels and all of a sudden to stumble on a 2 foot high anus with a see through butt plug inserted. Not what we were expecting. I've never been to a hotel where porn isn't a pay per view thing. It was disconcerting to be honest. Almost (but only almost) ruined the mood... :brows:

Sure, is possible to look at it that way...

Maybe I've already have those though, I'd checked and 483M cash money was seemingly-absent for some odd reason.

I like the way the industry is headed with some of the way they are adapting to covid and streaming services. Producers and directors are opting to spend the budgets on casting rather than major cinema productions and producing off the cuff films with more of a creative balance since streaming services dont require the major efforts of big budget films. Albeit the screenwriting and scripts take a beating for more spontaneous ad-libs they still prove to fill a gap in the industry right now. The film was funny in its brand of humor although with a ton of commercialized propaganda jokes and political jabs. Anyone can sell a film to netlfix with an approved camera for a small budget these days.

Right now the cheapest netflix approved camera is a sony FS5 (non anamorphic) that can be had used for around 1-2 grand, throw in some lenses and a small production budget and you can basically be your own producer/director. I have several projects in the works that will prove to be under 10k budgets in total.

Good point, fuck McKinsey & that entire industry, grooming armies of sociopaths and psychopaths for the ruling class duties.

Pretty uneventful evening.
All was quiet around 10 pm here. Snow was forecasted today, however it’s has just been rain.

Put my fancy pants on and went to hipster coffee shop in the big city for brunch. Dank French toast was had.
Planned on a gravel ride but 32 and rain, I opted for zwift. Now lounging with kiddo watching Eleanor

I have no idea where I am
It’s Stay Away Saturday around here. Way too many people for a Pandemic New Years Day at my local outdoor spots. Also it’s really windy.

The day has not been a total loss since I did wash my down puffy for the first time in three years. It was getting stinky.

It’s very hot here in Pōneke, almost too hot. Beautiful day though, blue sky, just a light breeze, and it has rained enough that everthing is lush and green still.

I am pretty tired after days of parties and my body needs a break, they were lots of fun though. Decorating both of the kids rooms too, ongoing. Wallpaper (ugh) in the first to finish, then starting prep on the second tomorrow, maybe.

Kids wanted pizza and movie night. Home Alone 2. Made fancy pizza for me and the wife: fig, prosciutto, shiitake, with ricotta and aged gruyere

After half a trouble free season on a front 2.5 Assegai, including some near spiky rock death moments, I seem to have finally got a puncture from taking the kids to the park.
