I'm building up an urban/trials bike, and my question is this... the fork I have is rated for tires up to 2.4" but I was looking at the maxxis hookworm urban tires, and they are 2.5" ... would this 0.1" make a difference.... would it be potentially dangerous, as if the fork did bottom out it would nick the tire.....? thanks for the input

It might make a difference but unless you have a tyre fully inflated on your rim you don't know how wide it actually is.

A 1.5 tyre could be wider than another manufacters 1.75.

Very good point, The only way to find out is to try it out. If worst comes to worse and the knobs rub, take to the tyre with an angle grinder. That worked for me:thumb:
