k..my v10 is due to arrive soon...and i have decided to put dorado on it..but now i cant decide which one i want? the 04 dorado is currently in stock at my lbs but the 05 i hvae to at least wait for 2 months which suks..so which +one should i get? i noe that both of them still use the good ol tpc+ and the difference is that the 04 model has 30 mm stantions and 05 has 32mm...
will that affect the performace alot? like will the 04 have more flex? so should i get the 04 or wait 10 million years for the 05 with just the 32 mm stantions?

thanks for ur help

How much do you weigh? Older Dorados are plenty stiff for us 170 lb and under crowd.

How much of a gear-whore are you? If you just like to ride and not worry about your stuff so much, you should be happy with the older model...it worked fine for lots of riders for years. If you're the kind of guy who looks longingly at everyone else's brand-new gear and just has to have the latest stuff, you might want to wait for the new one.

Personally, I'd get the 04, especially if it's at a good price. But I live where I could be riding right now, too. If I lived in the snow, and the riding season was 4 months away anyhow, I'd consider waiting for the 05.

I got my '05 on christmas eve ( Oh yeah, Merry X-mas to me). haven't even ridden it in the dirt yet  too much D.Jing. But giving it the old parking-lot test it feels stiffer, lighter and smoother than any fork I've had.. (888, Shiver, Boxxer, SuperT ect.)

Well, crap, if they're available now, order one online...it's not your problem that the LBS can't deliver for you...

I am pretty sure that the 04 Dorado DH and the 05 Dorado are exactly the same. The diameter change took place from 03 to 04. I owned an 04 and I now have an 05 no change except the 05 has the integrated stem. I rode an 03 before that and I obviously have been very happy with them.

U sure about that? The '05 lacks the integrated stem of previous years, and according to the Manitou website did upgrade to the 32 mm sanctions. I'm looking at my '05 right now as well as looking at the pic on the website, so I don't think I would be wrong on this one. And I guess most of the 2005 Dorados are not available untill late Jan. if I remember correctly  .
