I just picked up one of these bikes for a mate. Its a funny bike, I personally think they stuffed up the geo somewhere. A photos says a 1000 words...

Thats not the bike, but shows the problem pretty well. In the 'high' (as seen in pic) bb setting the head angle is stupid steep even with the fork extended into the big crowns. The bb is nice at this setting though- at 14.6" or so.

In the 'low' setting, the head angle is just acceptable, but the bb comes in at around 13.6"! The thing just feels stupid with such a low bb and high ride height.

I got this bike for a killer price, and I'd really like to make it work for my mate. I have a shorter shock here- 8.75, it didn't seem to make a lot of difference as it just made the bb lower.

What can I modify to get the BB up and headangle out?

Am I missing something, but wouldn't running the frame in the low position but using the fork fully extended in the marzocchi drop crowns give it exactly what you're looking for.

maybe a low stack upper headset with no spacers under the upper crown can chopper it out a little more.

The problem is that its too low at the BB and too high at the bars. The other setting is too steep- even with the fox extended in the crowns.

I have a near flat bar and flat stem, because of the stupid crown- theres no room to run a stem inverted. Even with the bar height fixed, the BB is too low..

It really seems like an impossibility. A taller fork setting and shorter shock will slacken the head angle, and attempt to keep the BB high enough, but then bar height goes through the roof.

I reckon your best bet would be to sell the bike for profit since you got a good deal, and buy your friend a bighit or something. Lighter, faster, and you get the right mix of low/slack with reasonably low bar height. :)

Make a new top shock mount out of a couple of pieces of aluminum plate, run the 8.75 shock in the low travel position and you'll have a low 7" travel frame with the head angle you want. The bb around 13.5" should be good with the lower travel. Run a stem like the dangerboy SR71 (67mm) and low rise bars and the front end will drop down nicely.

I think Jonny has bring out some good question, some of the bike have a such charactic..like KONA stab supreme...the geometry is look like the same low BB height, too steep head angle..It is diffcult to turn...Did any body have this kind of feeling?

Or how to suit for this ride?
