So i ordered an 04 sherman flick (130-90mm) and an 05 flick (150-110)showed up at my shop. I ride street/DJ/Park on my .243 aswell as DH at snowshoe. According to the guy at answer i spoke with you can run the 05 flicks in either travel setting without it breaking and being stuck in the lower setting. I had my heart set on the lower travel, however the forks height at 110mm is still good, and i really do get beat around using my 4" Dj3 that i am currently running. So for extreme DH'n the 6" seems like an allright idea. Will this hold up with the 1 1/8 steerer?? Does anyone have any experience with the new travel adjuster dealie? Any input on flicks in general?

Oh yeah, this has the 20mm hex axel.

The '05 Shermans are money. I have the '05 Breakout Plus, and the travel adjust feature is perfect. They're super-solid forks, I'd keep what you got, cuz it has better internals than the '04 models.

Arent the 05 shermans supposed to have 4mm pinch bolts instead of 3mm? I would also consider that a major change, as I have already stripped the axle pinch bolts on my slider.

Hmmm... I dunno what size the bolts on the '04 Shermans were, but the '05 forks have 4mm bolts that don't seem soft at all. I know there were some issues with "self-stripping" bolts, and, as far as I can tell, those issues have been resolved.

Email them & they will send you the bigger bolts. I did.

Only 2 changes. SPV Evolve internals and a boost in travel. That's it.
How is the evolve vs the SPV for the 04's. I have an 05 slider on order and was hoping all of the complaints I read about would be fixed?

Here are some pics. Keep in mind that the sherman extends about 3/4s of an inch past the axel. Also the DJ3 is a 4" fork.

My main concern is whether or not the forks actually will go from being ridden hard in the 6" setting to being ridden hard in the 4" setting. If it cant do that then this fork is kinda pointless for me.

Seems to me like it'd be fine in either travel setting, but I dunno for sure. Call Manitou, see what they recommend.
