hey i was just discussing this with a friend,

thing is, the new shiver supposedly uses the new 888 style dampers

as some of you might know, the 888 is a very light fork for its size and travel. part of this weight loss is because of a low-oil-volume damper.

so we were really surprised to see that the 05 marzo catalogs say the new 05 shiver uses 170ml oil in each leg, thats over 100ml less than the previous ones, who use up to 300ml each leg

all this oil saving could mean a really light shiver, something that everybody would fancy, right?

so, anyone know whats up with the 05 shiver dc, in the real world?

i really dont see how they could use those low volume (preload) caps, since the lower legs actually hit the top caps on bottom-out. Not discounting the rest of the cart assembly tho.

As for the lower oil, there may be other ways too compensate for it

Those numbers look suspicious. Thats less oil than the 888 uses and on par with a Z1. Not to mention, the fact that no upgrades, outside the color and stickers, have been mentioned by anybody from Marzocchi (like Brian Peterson). Also, if they had spent money on the internals I doubt that they would have initially planned to not sell it world wide. The big M can be dumb at times so it's not out of the question that they would:

a. Really upgrade the fork this year
b. Not tell anyone about it
c. Plan on not selling it in all markets

I suspect it's a typo.
