just wondering if mavic were going to stick with their 28 spoke DH wheel or not? seeig as they are aparently going to make a 150 wide rear hub, it might be a good time to up the spoke count as well!

that just dont make since. why would a company go with 28 spokes for one year and then the next year change back to 32. i mean i guess they could have found that it was dumb and they werent indistructible any more, but it just doesnt make any since. im still thinking that its going to be 28 spokes but we will find when people get them in.
yeah in my opinon the 05's wern't very good, alot of people were complaining about them cause the broke to easily, i run the 04's and i love them...they're some of the best wheels i've ever run
It's funny because ever since Mavic went to the tubeless deal for the deemax the OLD deemax were 36h or 32h, I can't remember it's been a while but I know it wasn't 28.
With how they are trying to use a semi-light weight DH tubeless rim they should have 32h. Even 36h. Their hubs are ok, nothing really that special (well stright pull).
You could build up a 36h wheelset, using better spokes and hubs for the same price as a Deemax wheelset. The 05 ones seem to be holding up fine under abuse, so their 2006 shouldn't be too different.
I still have some of the old skool DeeMax's 36 spokes and strong as hell. I had some of the first tubless DeeMax's and they were the biggest POS. 28 spokes are good for light riders but once you get into the Fat FuK club you need more spokes.
