I currently have a 07 888 WC on my bike that I have about 2 weeks on. I really like the fork, however I was thinking about trying the Boxxer wc. I don't have any time on a boxxer since my 02. The 888 is a great fork, but it seems the boxxer is very successful. I ride about 50/50 DH/Freeride and weight about 170lbs. I would love the chance to loose a pound from my bike and maintain the quality of my fork. Does the boxxer wc perform as well as the 888? The 888 is definatly a confidence inspiring fork and it is bomb proof and not maintance intensive. Anyone have time on both forks? Money isn't an issue because I can get a boxxer at cost and sell the 888 for the same. Basically if I can keep the performance of the 888 and save the weight i'll switch.

I really want to try it but the 888 is dialed for the bike. And in my experience I probably shouldnt try to fix it if it isnt broken

if you have money to burn, do it. and you RACE

i just sold my Boxxer wc for a 888. i just couldn't get use to the air feel versus coil of the 888. i'm going back.

If durability is your issue, stick with your 888.

If you are lighter (under 180) get a fox 40. They are light and seem to work well for lighter riders. Heavier riders seem to have issues with bottom out control. They are very tuneable and all the adjustments are external.

i'd keep the 888 wc, since you still do a bit of freeriding over the boxxer. Plus, the look of nickel plated stanchions.....forget about it! You got good stuff, don't even worry about it :D

Ran boxxer wc last year and 888wc this year, feel a bunch more confident on the 888 and so crazy plush.

the Boxxer rides ok.. no better/worse than the 888, but you'll never get the same reliability out of it.. not in a million years.

55s look cool.
A little bit more than cool when you read the figures... 36mm stanchions and 125-165mm adjustable travel in a 2.1kg package to me reads "too good to be true".

Wonder what the catch is.... all mountain use only, wafer thin lowers and stanchions?
