Right, I've noticed some oily dirt collecting around the compression knob, which would suggest that they've fallen victim to leaky boxxer syndrome. I'm off to the alps for 2 weeks next sunday, and so I can't send it off to someone and would therefore have to fix it myself.

I'm willing to give it a go, but I have no idea what size o-ring to get (or where from, I won't have access to a car next week so ordering online is the only option really), so will it be ok to run them like this in france, or will they die a horrible oil-free death and ruin my holiday?

Been running my 08 boxxer with that same leak for a year now. Doesn't seem to be getting any worse. To be safe though, I'd make sure the oil levels are up to par before your trip.
