1.5 headset with reducer for 1 1/8 inch steere tube

hye there.. this is the first time im posting here..

anyway.. i have a 1.5 headset installed on my bike.. and a boxxer race which has a 1 1/8 inch steerer.. is it okay that i machine a reducer so that i could use my current 1.5 headset and run my boxxer with it?

the setup will be in my headtube are 1.5 headset-->reducer to 1 1/8 inch-->steerer 1 1/8 inch

will this setup held up? im not going to do 10 footer drop right now.. cause im new into downhill... :)

i hope you guys could help me on this...

doesnt that requires me to get a new headset as well?

i was thinking of machining a reducer that doesn't requires me to buy another headset

Well your not going to be making a reducer then, your going to be making custom bearing races, but your still going to run into other issues, mostly that you will spend more making these, than it would cost to get some reducers and a headset
