I think it'd be fun, but right now I'm picturing it with a crotch-rocket sticking out of it from the side thanks to the motorcycle thread from last week. I don't think this thing would be much safer.

When are they coming to the states?

They are unofficially sold in the states.
Merc doesn't want to sell them in the states so a 3rd party is importing them, modifying them to US spec, and reselling them. That's why they are so fricken expensive. Something like $25k and only 35mpg.
I'll take my $20k Tdi that gets 49mpg and seats 4 any day.

i saw a few at a mercedes dealer the other day.
ridiculously overpriced.

$35k for a smart in Lima, Peru.
i thought, who the **** would buy that????????????
then i saw 2 a few days later around town.

the mini cooper is also another ultra expensive teacup car.
my buddy´s sister got one a few months ago. $37k for a USED 2005 S. sheez, wtf is up with some people?
