I can't for the life of me remember the guys name, but a dude that lives (lived...) in Ballard went around the world on an old 1100 GS. Through the Sahara and what not....Big coffee table book about it with really nice pics....

I'll have to google it later....I'm lazy.

Ewan McGregor did something similar on BMW's too, him and Martin Borman rode from London to New York. They made it into a tv serries and book called "Long Way Round".

I have a very strong feeling that Helge is better... :biggrin:

I read Helge's book....words don't describe it. But I suppose the logistics of film crews and what not could get pretty bad.

I test drived a 1200 GS once. Was one off the nicest offroad bikes I ever drove. Too bad they're expensive!
